It has been a busy week already for our crews! Firefighters trained on vehicle extrication, drafting and water supply operations for areas without hydrants and we got to help students for water day at Riverbend!

Photos like this remind us how much has changed over the years - our equipment, facilities, and capabilities have all grown to better serve our community. What hasn't changed is the dedication of the firefighters, staff, and supporters who have all worked to keep our area safe.

At the time, the station stood at 120 North Second Street but has since moved to a newer facility at 910 West Osage Street along Route 66.

This week, our crews spent time on the water conducting boat operations training. Training focused on safe vessel handling, navigation, launching and recovery procedures, and water rescue readiness.

Regular training helps ensure our firefighters are prepared to respond quickly and safely to emergencies on and around the water. We are committed to maintaining the skills and equipment needed to protect our community in all environments.

Our crews spent some time today sharpening their skills with rope operations, practicing both ascending and descending techniques. We also trained on flowing large volumes of water using the RAM monitor and deck gun to ensure we’re prepared for a variety of emergency situations.

Today we recognize the strength, sacrifice, compassion, and love that mothers bring to our homes and our community. Whether you’re a mom, stepmom, grandmother, guardian, or mother figure, thank you for everything you do.

Mrs. Knight has been located safe and is in the care of family members.

Special thanks to our first responder community whom responded to assist.

*******Missing Person*************

Franklin county deputies along with other first responders are in the area of the 100 block of Enchanted Oaks in Robertsville conducting a search for a Missing/Endangered person.

The missing person is Identified as 73 yoa Lurae Knight whom was last seen on the evening of May 3rd, 2026 but is believed to have gone missing the morning hours of May 4th.

Mrs. Knight is a dementia patient whom was last seen wearing a black/white flannel shirt, blue jeans, and house slippers.

She is described as a white female heavyset with sandy brown/graying hair wearing thick eye glasses. She is believed to have left her residence on foot. Anyone with information is encourage to contact the Sheriff’s office.
