The preparation of an updated 2026 ADA Transition Plan is currently underway!

Sally Swanson Architects shall perform an ADA Self-Evaluation and provide an updated Transition Plan for the City’s Right-of-Way, buildings, parks and parking lots that provide programs, services, or activities to the public. The surveys will identify physical barriers in each facility that limits accessibility.

The consultant, SSA, shall assist the City of Pacifica to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The fundamental goal of the ADA is to ensure equal access to civic life by people with disabilities, and the Act prohibits discrimination against disabled persons in the United States. Title II of the ADA requires state and local governments to make their programs, services, and activities accessible to persons with disabilities, and establishes physical requirements for public facilities.

For more information, please see our ADA Transition Plan page:

🌿 Get Outside AND INVOLVED, Pacifica!
Pacifica’s Beautification Advisory Committee (BAC) works to rehabilitate public areas and educate the community on how beautification strengthens our sense of community. In addition to their monthly public meetings, they organize workdays to put their mission into action. At one of their recent workdays, volunteers helped plant native plants in the Crespi bioswales by Cabrillo Elementary School. Check out their upcoming schedule to see when you can join the next BAC workday!

🌿 Get Outside AND INVOLVED, Pacifica!
Check out the newly named Lynn Adams trail on the switchbacks in Rockaway where you can spot several native plants along the path, including California poppies, wild strawberry, and sticky monkey flowers. The City also collaborates with the Pacific Beach Coalition's Water Warriors program to support the native plants growing along nearby paths, and they are looking for additional support from the community!
