California State Parks Week is just around the corner and with it, a special program coming to a park near you!

Enter :🌿🎶 Plant Tunes🎶🌿

Listen to music "made" by plants and create a unique piece of artwork inspired by the plant music! On Wednesday, June 10, meet at the Francis Beach Campground’s amphitheater at 1 pm for this two-hour program. We will get acquainted with a few different species of plants along the nearby nature trail and sit to listen to what the plants have to “say” using a PlantWave device.

Please register in advance at www.castateparksweek.org

While the event itself is free to attend, the $10 vehicle day use parking fee still applies.

Join us on Sunday, April 26 for Half Moon Bay State Beach’s annual Coastal Wildflower Day, as we celebrate the diversity of our coastal environment and protect what grows here . 🌿The festivities will run from 10 am - 2 pm at Half Moon Bay State Beach - Venice Beach.

This community celebration will feature local food vendors Alebrije’s Oaxacan Food Truck and FishWife Sweets, performances by local musicians and dancers, and a number of community organizations sharing resources, fun crafts, and activities! There will also be a native plant sale, a professional facepainter, several raffle drawings, and guided walks led by State Parks staff–all free for eventgoers! 🤩

If you pick up an event “passport" at the Coastside State Parks Association booth and fill it up with stamps from our partner booths, you can go home with a little something to help you plant your own seeds at home! Or you can purchase a mature plant that's ready to be put into the ground, grown by our very own volunteers! Event updates and full schedule can be found on our website: coastalwildflowerday.org.
