Have you wondered how we conduct free and fair elections in San Mateo? In this current political climate, this is especially important. We are guided by the office of the Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder & Chief Elections officer. That is in addition to appraising and assessing all properties in San Mateo County

This year, for the first time in 16 years, the Chief’s office is opening up as Mark Church is retiring. Running for this vital position are the current deputy Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder and Assistant Chief Elections officer Jim Irizarry and San Mateo County Supervisor David Canepa.

Both will be at our next Pacifica Democrats monthly meeting on March 21st at 9:30 am. Come hear what approach each would take to the office and ask questions.

This is a breakfast meeting with full breakfast available for $20, Continental for $10, and coffee, tea, or hot chocolate for $5. If you wish to dine, please arrive in time to complete your order before 9:30.

In the past, Mark has worked for SAMTRANS as the Executive Officer for Public Affairs. Prior to that, he was a political writer and daily columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle.

There was an alarming article in the New York Times yesterday. Democrats are far behind Republicans in funding for the mid-terms. These elections are ours to lose. Please consider donating to candidates and groups that are working hard to ensure that we continue to be a democratic society. I've put in a screen shot of the start of the article.

The holidays are over and it's time to focus again. Let's participate!

All across the country, feminists are rising up to say ENOUGH. ICE killed Renee Nicole Good in cold blood and has killed many others on our streets and inside its detention centers.

A government that cages, deports, and kills with impunity is out of control, whether the targets are Americans or people overseas, and it violates every value our country claims to stand for.

We're taking action on January 10, on January 20, and every fu***ng week until they stop attacking our freedoms. No matter where or when you protest this weekend (check your local map for details) please use on your posts
