The Paducah Fire Department would like to thank everyone that was directly involved on scene last night on the Triangle Ranch Moon Camp Wildfire. Cottle County Judge Holloway, Txdot employees providing traffic control, Crowell Fire Department, precinct 3 commissioner Harvey Truelock, Texas Forest Service, TIFMAS strike teams and the employees and their families of the Triangle Ranch.

Dangerous wildfire conditions will exist until we receive some precipitation. We urge everyone to be very cautious and aware of changing conditions during this drought and the seasonal high wind. Wildfires can occur at any moment and spread rapidly so please be mindful and prepared to evacuate should the situation occur. We thank you for your support and most of all keeping us in your prayers.

Residents of Cottle County and the City of Paducah please prepare for the possibility of severe storms this afternoon. We will continue to watch the weather and keep you informed the best we can.

SIGNIFICANT POSSIBLE this evening with a cluster of intense supercells in the eastern Texas Panhandle i to southwestern Oklahoma!

These suoercells are forecast to develop around 5-6 pm, maybe earliet, off the Caprock and steamroll along a warm front zone tonight. Very large hail will be likely with these storms.

The tornado threat may even approach the OKC Metro area very late tonight

*Thursday March 5 Severe Weather Update*

Supercells with large hail, damaging winds, and a couple of tornadoes (possible strong) are possible tomorrow across parts of the Texas panhandle and western Oklahoma.

A dryline will likely setup in the western parts of the 806 tomorrow afternoon as a strong upper level low encroaches from the west. A warm front will also be lifting north from central Texas, on the nose of a big moisture surge from the Gulf. We expect most of the area to remain capped throughout the day. This will limit how many storms are out there, but that could mean the ones that are out there have more energy to work with. We expect storms to develop by mid afternoon along the dryline and warm front. This warm front will be moving north and not stationary. Any storm that can root on this boundary and lift with it will have the potential to produce tornadoes and very large hail. Activity should move northeast and into Oklahoma by 10 PM. We then expect activity to drop severity after midnight.

Overall threats to the large cities such as Amarillo and Lubbock will be dependent on how far west the dryline sets up, and how capped the environment is. Instability will be less with northward extent. And capping will be worse further south. So there will be a sweet spot in the middle where storms can utilize the unstable air. We will have a better understanding of this goldilocks environment by morning.

Folks in the eastern panhandle will need to be on their guard for severe weather. Have a way to get warnings. And discuss any emergency plans with your loved ones today. More updates to come.
