Last week, we came together to celebrate the career of K9 Bary at his retirement party.

K9 Bary and his handler, Officer Ben Anthony, graduated from K9 training in February of 2021. Since then, Officer Anthony and Bary have worked together in our operations division. During his time with the Paducah Police Department, K9 Bary has conducted numerous vehicle and article searches, subject tracks, and participated in community presentations.

K9 Bary will spend his retirement at Officer Anthony’s home. He was gifted with treats, a retirement cake, and a new ball. We want to thank Officer Anthony for his hard work and dedication working with K9 Bary. Their work together has made a difference in our community, and we wish Bary a very happy and healthy retirement.

We’re proud to announce that Officers Kraig Campbell and Davin Perkins graduated today from the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training’s Basic Training Class 573. Officer Campbell served as squad leader during his academy session. After 20 weeks of intensive work at the DOCJT Academy in Richmond, they will now report for duty and begin the next phase of their training here at home.

A PUBLIC ASSIST LEADS TO ARREST

On September 27, 2026, Paducah police officers responded to a business in the 3500 block of James Sanders Boulevard for a public assist.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with an individual who had been communicating with Andrew Rodgers. The person reported being affiliated with a group that works to identify individuals attempting to arrange sexual encounters with children through electronic communications.

Rodgers admitted to officers that he had exchanged text messages with someone he believed was a 13-year-old boy. Rodgers further stated that he had sent sexually explicit photographs of himself and arranged to meet for a sexual act.

Detectives responded to continue the investigation. Rodgers was arrested without incident and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail on the charges listed below.

Suspect: Andrew Rodgers, a 36-year-old of Paducah, KY charged with:
• Procure or Promote the use of a Minor by Electronic Means
• Distribution of Obscene Matter to Minors 1st Offense

THREE ARRESTED FOLLOWING DRUG INVESTIGATION

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, Paducah Police Department Drug detectives attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Jacob Feltner as part of a drug investigation. Feltner fled in the vehicle from detectives. Officers did not pursue the vehicle but located it near his residence in the 200 block of Cedar Avenue.

The vehicle was seized and a search warrant was served on the residence. Feltner was not at that time.

During the search of the residence, two other individuals were arrested for possession of methamphetamine.

Feltner was located by detectives on Friday, September 25, 2026 and taken into custody without incident in the 1700 Block of Kentucky Avenue.

Suspect: Jacob Feltner, 26-years-old of Paducah, KY charged with:
• Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st degree (M**h) - 2 counts
• Fleeing or Evading Police 1st degree

Suspect: John Carlson, 44-years-old of Paducah, KY charged with:
• Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree (M**h)
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• Possession of Ma*****na

Suspect: Ashley Taber, 31-years-old of Paducah, KY charged with:
• Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree (M**h)
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

TRAFFIC COLLISION

On Saturday, September 12th, officers responded to an injury collision involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle at the intersection of Irvin Cobb Drive and Paducah Bank Drive.

The preliminary investigation determined a Ford F-150 being operated by Michael Young was attempting to turn left from Paducah Bank Drive onto Irvin Cobb Drive. Young told officers he looked in both directions and did not see any approaching traffic before entering the roadway.

As Young entered Irvin Cobb Drive, his vehicle was struck by a motorcycle operated by Robert Meyer. Meyer was transported to Baptist Health Paducah for treatment. He was later transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where he died from his injuries.

The collision remains under investigation by the Paducah Police Department Collision Reconstruction Unit.
