PADUCAH — He's a local hero who would have celebrated his 100th birthday Monday if he was still alive. Now, he'll receive his own marker in Arlington National Cemetery.

Harry J. Loe's 100th birthday was observed this afternoon with a traditional navy cake cutting ceremony by members of the Loe family, friends, neighbors and a contingent of NJROTC cadets from Paducah Tilghman High School in Harry's hometown of Paducah, KY.

ANOTHER PTF-26 FAN - here's a screen capture of Lieut. Col. Amy McGrath, USMC-ret. speaking from her home earlier today. I was pleased to note the ballcap of PTF-26/Training Ship JESSE L. BROWN received pride of place on the bookshelf behind her. LTC McGrath is a graduate of the U. S Naval Academy and was the Marine Corps' first female F/A-18 pilot to fly in combat. Amy is currently running to unseat Sen. Mitch McConnell in the U.S. Senate.
