McCracken County Coroner Amanda Melton is advocating for a dedicated morgue to serve the county, saying that the region's growth necessitates such a facility.

Today, July 22, Rotary Club members heard a well reasoned and passionate presentation from McCracken County Coroner Amanda Melton on the need for a County owned morgue facility. Like many counties around McCracken, our community doesn’t have a morgue and depends on the generosity of local funeral homes and the hospitals if they have space to house decedents not to mention the space needed for paper death records-some dating back to the 1960’s.

Rotarians appreciated Amanda’s dedication to this community!

The McCracken County Coroner's Office is seeking family information regarding William Scott Frost, "Frosty", a 56 year old white male who was found deceased on July 16th in Paducah. He is believed to be mostly unhoused and may have connections to Decatur, IL.

Tonight I was honored to teach "Scene documentation" to Region 1 coroners and deputies at the request of Livingston County Coroner Jeff Armstrong. We discussed photography, observations, interviews, and thorough report writing. Thank you to Kenny Pratt, Marshall County Coroner, for hosting us and all who participated.
