Join us on 3-2-21 6pm as Dr. Joshua Craver an assistant professor of Controlled Environment Horticulture at CSU and Robin Young CSU Extension Director in Archuleta County host a FREE zoom session on "Using Grow Lights For Controlled Environments".
Controlled environment agriculture (CEA) is a technology-based approach to crop production that focuses on optimizing an environment within a protected structure to facilitate desired plant growth and development. While greenhouses are the most prominent CEA structure utilized in the industry today, a growing interest in indoor or vertical production has become prevalent in recent years due to technological advancements. Proper lighting (light spectrum, light intensity, and photoperiod) is essential to produce high-quality crops in controlled environments. In this session, we will discuss the impacts of light on plant growth and development in controlled environments as well as explore recent advancements in CEA lighting research and technology.
