NOTICE: Magnesium Chloride Application on County Road 600/Forest Service Road 631

Archuleta County Road & Bridge crews will be applying magnesium chloride (dust suppressant) to CR 600/FS Road 631 this week.

IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDER:

• There have been multiple vehicle accidents on this road recently, with excessive speed being a contributing factor.
• Reduce your speed and allow additional stopping distance.
• Be alert for oncoming traffic, pedestrians, cyclists, and wildlife.

What Residents Should Know:

• Expect slow-moving maintenance vehicles and possible brief traffic delays in treatment areas.
• Magnesium chloride application can temporarily change road surface conditions, and drivers are urged to use extra caution.
• Freshly treated roads may be wet, soft, or slick until the product is fully absorbed.
• Please help keep our roads safe by driving at appropriate speeds and exercising caution while crews are working and while road conditions adjust following treatment.
