Dear Manse Elementary Families,

The safety and security of our students is our highest priority. I am writing to provide clarity regarding a report we received yesterday after school and to assure you that our school remains a safe environment for learning.

Please be assured that we have been in contact with the parents of the students directly involved.

Yesterday, school leadership was alerted to a verbal threat made by a student involving a weapon. We immediately launched a thorough investigation in coordination with Nye County Sheriff’s deputies. Our investigation confirmed that the student was not in possession of a weapon and does not have access to one.

The student involved will face the strictest disciplinary consequences in accordance with the law and district policy.

We share this information to prevent the spread of misinformation and to reinforce that we will always prioritize student safety above all else. We are grateful to the students who came forward to report their concerns; their responsibility is what helps keep our school community safe.
