Public Hearing Notice: MediWaste Pyrolysis Facility Permit Application, Pahrump

The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) is holding a public hearing regarding a permit application for a new medical waste pyrolysis facility in Pahrump submitted by MediWaste Disposal LLC. The facility is proposed to be located near East Basin Avenue and Highway 160 in central Pahrump.

The Movies in the Park season continues on Saturday, June 6, with the 2025 action‑adventure film “Superman.” The movie is rated PG‑13 and has a run time of 2 hours and 9 minutes.

From IMDB: “Superman must reconcile his alien Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as reporter Clark Kent. As the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, he soon finds himself in a world that views these as old‑fashioned.”

The showing will take place at Ian Deutch Memorial Park, Field 4, located at 1600 Honeysuckle St. The movie begins at approximately 8:15 p.m. Admission is free and supported by the Town of Pahrump.

The Town of Pahrump is now accepting applications for a Groundskeeper position. This is a full‑time job with benefits. The pay rate is $16.05 per hour. The position is funded by the Town of Pahrump General Fund.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on June 16, 2026.

The Groundskeeper works under general supervision and performs landscaping and grounds maintenance on public property. This includes parks, fields, and other Town locations.

Job Responsibilities
• Plants seeds, trees, shrubs, bulbs, and flowers. Installs sod, rocks, and boulders.
• Performs seeding, fertilizing, mulching, soil conditioning, thatching, top dressing, watering, weeding, and pest control.
• Mows grass, cuts weeds, trims vegetation, rakes leaves, prunes trees and shrubs, and digs bulbs.
• Removes dead, diseased, or overgrown trees, shrubs, and bushes from public areas.
• Maintains and adjusts grounds equipment such as mowers, spreaders, tractors, sprinklers, and irrigation lines. Sharpens mower blades and replaces trimmer reels.
• Drags and maintains ball fields to keep them in safe playing condition.
• Collects and disposes of debris, litter, and animal waste from public grounds, fields, walkways, and parks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Exhibit hours for the public are:

Swim lesson sign‑ups for the Pahrump Community Pool take place June 8 at 11 a.m. Space is limited, and classes run in three two‑week sessions from mid‑June through July.

Session dates:
• June 15–26
• June 29–July 10
• July 13–24

Class times are 10:15–10:45 a.m., 11:00–11:30 a.m., and 6:15–6:45 p.m. Lessons include “Mommy and Me” for ages 2 and under, and classes for ages 3 and up.

The 2026 Movies in the Park season begins Saturday, May 30, with the animated film “Smurfs.” The movie runs 1 hour and 29 minutes and is rated PG.

The story follows Smurfette and the Smurfs as they travel to the real world to rescue Papa Smurf from the wizards Razamel and Gargamel.

Join us at Ian Deutch Memorial Park, Field 4 (1600 Honeysuckle St.). Movie showings begin at 8:15 p.m. Admission is free and provided by the Town of Pahrump and Pahrump Tourism.
