We love continuing traditions that celebrate our students! Yesterday, our 6th graders who consistently met our behavioral expectations earned the opportunity to enjoy a skating trip together. We are proud of the way they represented Heritage with PRIDE and appreciate our staff for helping make this tradition possible. Great job, Raiders!

6th grade science students created hands-on models of cells to demonstrate their understanding of cell structures and functions. Each project represented parts of the cell, like the nucleus, membrane, and organelles, using creative materials. After completing their projects, students participated in a gallery walk, moving around the room to observe their classmates’ work. While viewing each project, they filled out a worksheet or paper, noting details, similarities, differences, and what they learned from each model. This activity helped reinforce their knowledge through both creating and evaluating different cell representations.

Last Wednesday through Friday, May 6 to May 8, 2026, a group of 7th and 8th grade students traveled to our Nation's Capital, Washington DC to learn about the History of The United States of America and American Government. Mrs. Farina, Mrs. Paroff and Mr. Zawicki, with the help of R&E Tours, taught students as much as they possibly could in those 3 days. Tour highlights included, but certainly were not limited to, Georgetown University, Arlington National Cemetery and The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, The Capitol, The White House, all of the monuments and memorials, and a fun and interactive dinner at Medieval Times. So many fun and educational memories were made.

6th graders in Miss Carlson’s and Mrs. Naughton’s classes worked on preparing for our upcoming worm habitat project. We began by decorating our bins, which will soon become homes for the worms we will take care of. The decorations helped us label and personalize our bins so we can easily identify them. After that, we worked on getting the materials ready for the worms by breaking apart soil and shredding pieces of cardboard. These materials will help create a comfortable habitat where the worms can live and help break down organic matter. This activity helped us understand how to prepare an environment that supports living organisms.
