⚠️Lake County Engineer Alan L. Exley announced Friday that a portion of Mill Morr Road will be closed for construction.

Exley said if weather permits, construction will begin Monday and focus on realignment at the Jackson Street intersection.

Traffic that needs to use Mill Morr Road will be detoured onto Jackson Street, Hopkins Road in Mentor and U.S. Route 20 (Mentor Avenue), Exley said.

Residential areas south of the pending road closure will still be accessible via U.S. Route 20.

Phillips Paving LLC will provide the improved intersection alignment.

Mill Morr Road will reopen once road work is complete, Exley said.

May resident brush drop dates

Acceptable items: RESIDENTIAL only yard clean-up, including limbs, twigs, branches (up to 8" in diameter), grass clippings and leaves.
We Do Not Accept: Tree stumps, contaminated materials, steel, wire, plastic, processed lumber timbers, railroad ties, pallets, etc, or any yard service contractors.

Effective July 1, 2026, all residential addresses will be serviced by Major Waste Disposal.

Later this month, all residents should receive information from Major Waste Disposal Services and the new contract details as the sole provider for trash removal service in the Township.

For the 2026-2027 initial contract year, services provided through this contract include:

Weekly garbage pickup:
(includes a 96 gallon tote): $51 / quarter
Optional: Bi-weekly Recycling: $12 / quarter
Optional: Weekly Yard Waste pickup: $18 / quarter

Additionally, those with very little trash can opt to purchase 'bag tags'. Each bag tag is good for 1 pickup, up to 3 kitchen sized (13 gallon) bags: $4.00

As a reminder, residents MAY OPT OUT OF SERVICES completely, but may not contract for service with a different provider.

This Saturday, join us from 9am-1pm for our Brush Drop-Off event, where you can responsibly dispose of your residential yard clean-up materials, including limbs, twigs, branches up to 8" in diameter, grass clippings, and leaves. Please ensure loads are tarped. Let's work together to keep our community clean by not disposing of unacceptable items like tree stumps, contaminated materials, steel, wire, plastic, processed lumber timbers, railroad ties, pallets, or any yard service contractors' materials.
