The progress continues at Angelo Cicconetti Memorial Park. The new walking path is being constructed and the prep work for the stamped concrete patio has started.
We participated in the Morley Library touch-a-truck event today. Our Dumbo plow made for a great photo opportunity for the kids.

The new fence is coming along nicely at Angelo Cicconetti Memorial Park.
We were willing to brave the cold but this constant snow has made the roadways wet, sidewalks wet and all of our entertainment: bagpipes, Shriner cars, Etc. have pulled out of the parade as well as many other participants called and canceled. At this point we have no other option but to cancel the parade. We are more than disappointed and sorry to have to do this. It would not be an enjoyable time for anyone And we have built a reputation of putting on a superior fun event that everyone can enjoy. We just do not feel that we can live up to it this year.
3am start for the crew today. Cleaning the sidewalks on Mentor Ave. for the St. Patrick's day parade.
The new edition to our snow fighting equipment. A 48in snowblower for the sidewalks we plow. Now let's hope that we don't need it on Saturday!
🍀Thank you to our parade sponsors thus far. Their generous contributions will cover the cost for the great additions to Painesville Township Annual St. Patrick's Parade
Falvey Realty, Sievers Security, The John Kelleher Co., Conway Land Title.
Post snowstorm work….mailbox repair, moving snow piles at intersections and making repairs to our sidewalk plow so it can resume plowing sidewalks tomorrow.
We received a message regarding one of our drivers who extended a courtesy to one of our residents along his route on Monday. She referred to him as the Monsters Inc. plow driver! Thank you Tim for your dedicated service and courtesy and thank you Riverside Local Schools art students for the wonderful work painting our plows.
The snow this week has delayed the curbside Christmas tree pickup. We will continue picking up trees next week, weather permitting. If your tree was at the curb before the snowstorm , and is now buried, we will pick it up when the snow melts. ALL trees placed at the curb will be picked up. Please call 440-352-2661 with any questions
and thank for your patience.
Several forecasts are predicting snowfall rates of 1-2” per hour and as much as 15” accumulation of wet and heavy snow. Our trucks will be on the road this evening pretreating until the snow begins and then plowing when it accumulates. Please remember that parking is prohibited on ALL ROADS during snowstorms. Give our drivers room to turn around at intersections and dead ends. Turn on your headlights so you can be seen. Consider placing your garbage can a few feet off the curb so the snow does not knock it over. This storm could present a challenge for both motorists and plow drivers. Slow down. Be patient. Be safe.
FYI effective immediately
Mantle road is now one way traffic from north ridge road(route20) to fairport nursery road. Detour signs are posted. This a county project so all questions can be directed to the lake County Department of Utilities 440-350-2645
❄️Looks like it’s coming. Please remember to not park on the road, we need them clear for plowing and everyone’s safety. ❄️
While parts of Ohio will be seeing the first snow of the season tomorrow afternoon, the lake effect snow machine is about to crank back up in NE Ohio. Here's the latest forecast from the US National Weather Service Cleveland OH. Please give our crews room to work and be extra alert for quickly changing conditions.
Today the Service Department is training on the new sewer jet we recently purchased with 100% of the funding coming from the American Rescue Plan (ARP). We also purchased a camera system to go with it. This machine will replace the current sewer jet that is 26 years old.
We picked up 51 trees today and will continue tomorrow. All trees placed at the curb will be picked up in the next three weeks. Last year we picked up 129 but over the past ten years we have averaged 170.
The Service Department will begin picking up Christmas trees on Monday January 3rd and continue until Friday January 21st. Please remove all lights, decorations, tree stands and plastic disposal bags when you place your tree at the curb. Weather conditions may impact our schedule, but all trees placed at the curb will be picked up. Unlike our brush and leaf collections, tree pick up is not done in one day. Please call 440-352-2661 with any questions.
Sometimes the right of way work needs equipment the Service Department does not own and is more budget friendly to hire it out.
Merry Christmas from the Painesville Twp. Service Dept.
Painesville Township and the Lake County Stormwater Management Department have contracted with Davis Diggers for a storm sewer replacement project on Paradise Road. Work should begin in early January and last 4-5 weeks. Severe winter weather could impact this schedule. Traffic will be maintained with one lane open at all times. Some traffic delays should be expected. Pavement repair and yard restoration will take place when warm weather returns.
Catching up on some roadside trimming on this sunny December day
A couple of our Service Dept crew were at the Christmas Party today helping out then the wind hit and they had to rush out and tackle a big tree that the wind dropped across the road.
Wake up Santa. Big party today!
Seasons Greetings
Just a perk of the job this time of year. Christmas 🎄 🎅 🤶
From Painesville City:
🚧 ROAD NOTICE 🚧 Starting Tuesday, December 7 through Friday, December 10, Bank Street near the 5-point intersection with S State Street, will be restricted to one lane. Motorists are encouraged to use S State Street as a detour during heavy traffic hours
We have been doing curbside collections for over 20 years and we are always amazed at how many bags we pick up in one day. We couldn’t do it without the help of the Riverside Local Schools clubs and athletic teams. Today’s help was provided by the Lacrosse Team. Over the years we have received help from Baseball , Wrestling, Swimming, Marching Band and Drama Club. Thanks to all for another successful day!
Final curbside leaf collection today. Riverside Lacrosse team helping again. Enjoying some lunch before we begin the east side of our Township.
Two important upcoming dates📆
✴️Tuesday 11/30 - 🍁🍂The last day the resident brush drop-off is open 7:30a-3p. It will then be closed until next spring. proof or residence required, no commercial
✴️Saturday 12/4 - 🍂The final curbside leaf pick up. Reminder leaves must be in paper bags (only) and on curb by 7a for pick up (weather permitting)🍂 🛑no brush or plastic bags
Our trucks are on the road.
The first bench was installed at Clyde C. Hadden Park. we have more to place but will do so next spring when we can pour concrete bases. The supply-chain issues caused delays in us getting them in time to put them all up this year. We will also be placing the ones at Angelo Cicconetti Memorial Park on Bowhall next spring. These benches were all paid for by sponsorship from the community. They are made of a composite material that will stand up to the sun and weather better than metal or wood benches.
Just in case. We're ready for the snow ❄
The first curbside leaf pick up is complete. Thanks Riverside High School boys lacrosse team.
