NBZ Apparel Continues Their Social Good Program and Community Support by Donating 140 Pairs of NBZ Jeans to The Hope Chest of Lake County
NBZ Apparel continues their social good impact and community support by donating 140 pairs of NBZ Boy’s jeans to The Hope Chest of Lake County. Located in Painesville, Ohio, The Hope Chest of Lake County is an all-volunteer based organization dedicated to a mission of providing clean clothing and new shoes to school children in Lake County so that they may attend school with dignity and pride. NBZ® Apparel International is a one-of-a-kind social good apparel maker and on-line clothing retailer. Their inclusive high-quality dress blue jeans, casual blue jeans, black pants, and khaki pants are specially designed to improve independence, self-esteem, and ease of dressing. Inspired by The Hope Chests’ efforts NBZ Apparel is proud to complete the donation valued at $7,693.00 dollars ultimately strengthening both organizations’ almost identical missions. NBZ Apparel delivered the donation to The Hope Chest of Lake County on Tuesday, April 25th.
The Hope Chest has been serving Lake County for 50 years. It began as a joint mission/outreach program between Hope Ridge and Painesville United Methodist Churches. The now have more than 60 volunteers, including 25 trustees representing 17 churches and organizations in Lake County. They accept clients from Jobs and Family Services as well as the churches and organizations by written referral. "We are thrilled to accept this donation from NBZ Apparel. Jeans are a great need of our clients. They will be happy to have new jeans for school," shared Jan Milazzotto, co-president of Hope Chest along with Judy Szabo.
Karen Bowersox, Founder/President of NBZ Apparel shares her enthusiasm with this partnership. “It’s heartwarming to know our donation will help so many. The partnership also represents our mission’s foundation signifying that these are greatly made, comfortable, and fashionable pants to be worn by anyone, that also aid those with disabilities and dressing challenges. Our pants are not solely created for disabled populations. They are just great inclusive pants, accessible by all.”
As a social good company, every product ordered through NBZ Apparel provides customers with an opportunity to support a cause of their choice. For every three pairs of pants sold, NBZ® Apparel will donate one pair to one of these chosen causes such as autism, veterans, homeless/poverty etc... NBZ® Apparel’s long-term goal is to donate 1,000,000 pairs of pants to improve people’s lives through partnerships with likeminded organizations such as The Hope Chest of Lake County. Marketing and Program Director William Herron states “I’m thrilled for the opportunity to develop partnerships with other amazing organizations who are dedicated to benefitting the lives of so many. It’s an even greater feeling that the outcome will help families right here in our local community. I feel that this donation also highlights the variety of causes NBZ Apparel’s customers support through their purchases.”
NBZ® Apparel International is driven to make a life-changing difference for wounded/disabled veterans, amputees, stroke victims, seniors, plus adults and children living with disabilities such as Down syndrome, Autism, Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Cerebral Palsy, ALS, severe arthritis, and more. NBZ® Apparel is actively looking to form additional partnerships with organizations which directly serve people who will benefit from their life-changing pants.

Thank you, Lake County Community, for the wonderful donations we have received at Hope Chest! Our racks and shelves are well stocked! Your generosity has allowed us to share with the Volunteers of America AND the Back to School Bash. The Back to School Bash is for Lake County children in need of assistance for the school year. Please continue to remember us with your monetary and goods donations. The pictures are of the pick-up today from Volunteers of America.
Hope Chest was closed December 28, but one of the volunteers had come in to sort through some of the many donations. After working a couple hours she decided to bring up some of the donations from the bin on the dock. A car was pulling up to the dock as she stepped out the door. One of the Sisters from Notre Dame Elementary in Chardon had just arrived with a car packed full of boxes. Notre Dame had held a coat and clothing drive to benefit Hope Chest. The Sister said she had been praying that someone would be there to receive the donation. Obviously, her prayers were answered since the volunteer stepped onto the dock at the same time she arrived. Hope Chest thanks Notre Dame Elementary for sending the boxes of coats and clothes you see in the picture!
Hope Chest continues to see community support and caring from area schools. National Honor Society students at South High in Willoughby initiated a clothing drive from the students and staff. They were only able to fit half of what was donated into the car! We look forward to seeing the other half in the days to come. THANK YOU!!!
A huge THANK YOU to the students at Riverside High School. Wednesday a stream of students came to Hope Chest carrying bags of new clothing and other items to donate. It is wonderful to see students who care about others in their community!
Once again 100+ Women Who Care, Lake County Chapter made hearts smile at Hope Chest. In September this group donated $5200.00 to help Hope Chest continue its mission. Please keep this in mind for future donations!
Ridge Middle School in Mentor comes through once again for Hope Chest. They recently held a coat drive to collect gently used coats. Here are some of the coats that were donated. Thank You Ridge!
Happy Holidays to our friends and supporters! We have been so busy at Hope Chest putting out the many donations to make it a special Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa for Lake County and surrounding area families. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity; however we do need a few items. Today we put out our last pair of mittens. We need all size mittens and gloves through adult. Children’s pajamas have been hard to find, also. Finally, in order to pay our rent so we can keep the store open, monetary donations would be gratefully accepted. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
See our website to for making monetary donations:
Hope Chest would like to share a heartwarming story of how your donations have helped a family. Recently a family came to Hope Chest. They had lost everything in a house fire. Through your donations they were able to replace coats, clothes, shoes, bedding, housewares and toys for their children. It gave the volunteers at Hope Chest a feel-good feeling to be able to help them. We wanted to share that feel-good feeling with you. Thank you for your involvement and donations that help us help others.
Give to Hope Chest as you purchase gifts for the holidays. Choose Hope Chest Inc as you shop on AmazonSmile.

Christmas came early for Hope Chest and clients. It came in the form of a black pickup truck driven by Christine Riley. The truck was filled with toys, books, puzzles and much more donated by the Mentor Jazzercise Center, owned by Christy Pavlovski. You have helped Hope Chest make many children happy. There are too many pictures to post. THANK YOU!
