Press Release: Early Morning Structure Fire Response
At 3:43 AM this morning, the Painted Post Fire Department was dispatched for a reported garage fire with multiple exposures within our district.
As with all emergency calls, our volunteers responded from their homes.
Chief 28-02 responded immediately, calling en route at 3:45 AM and arriving on scene at 3:47 AM, 4 minutes after dispatch. Chief 28 called en route at 3:46 AM and arrived on scene at 3:50 AM. Upon arrival, a 360 of the structure was completed—a full walk-around of the building performed by the first arriving chiefs to assess fire conditions, identify hazards, determine if occupants or exposures are at risk, and relay critical information by radio to incoming firefighters before they arrive.
Our first-due apparatus, Truck 3, responded with five firefighters at 3:51 AM and arrived on scene at 3:53 AM—marking its first working fire since being placed in service recently. Engine 30 followed closely behind with four firefighters, and both crews quickly established water supplies from nearby hydrants while beginning fire suppression operations.
With multiple structures threatened, a second alarm was requested to bring additional resources to the scene. Thanks to the rapid response and coordinated efforts of all agencies, the fire was reported as having a good knockdown by 4:03 AM, was largely knocked down by 4:06 AM, and was declared under control at 4:20 AM.

Every firefighter on our trucks this morning was a volunteer who answered the call from home in the middle of the night. We're incredibly grateful for the dedicated members who continue to serve our community when they're needed most.
