Clear and calm conditions under passing high pressure will allow for near to sub-freezing temperatures in most valley locations across Eastern Kentucky tonight. Widespread frost is likely and frost could kill crops and sensitive vegetation. Even colder temperatures are forecast for Thursday night into Friday morning.

We are closely monitoring two rounds of gusty showers moving through Eastern Kentucky. As of midday, the first is located along a line from Inez to Harlan, moving east and out of the area. The second stretches from Fleming to Sunnybrook, also moving east. Round two may produce stronger gusts and a few rumbles of thunder, and both are bringing some highly beneficial rain to the region.
