🇮🇳 Celebrating India’s 80th Independence Day with nearly 2,000 community members at Indiahub!

It was wonderful to celebrate alongside our Illinois legislators, members of Congress, community leaders, families, and friends.

Proud of our roots, grateful for our community, and inspired by the generations continuing to lead and serve. 🇮🇳🇺🇸

Thank you to the Schaumburg Rotary Club ⚙️for inviting me to learn more about the incredible work you are doing to serve our community. Your dedication to maintaining the butterfly garden provides a beautiful place of peace, reflection, meditation, and emotional support for the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), which serves more than 800 children each year who have experienced trauma from physical and sexual violence. I am grateful for your commitment to creating a space of healing, hope, and support for children and families in our community.

History came to life as we gathered at Harper College to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the reading of the Declaration of Independence. It was an honor to be part of this historic celebration, reflecting on the ideals of liberty, democracy, and civic engagement that continue to shape our nation.

It was wonderful to see IL State Representative Nicole Grasse join the celebration and show support for Harper College’s outstanding History Department and our students. Events like these remind us of the importance of preserving our history while inspiring the next generation of engaged citizens.

Proud to serve as a Harper College Trustee and support educational experiences that strengthen our community.

It was a wonderful evening attending the Moms First screening of No Country for Mothers hosted by my friend and one of the most accomplished women I know, Reshma Saujani -TIME Woman of the Year, whose leadership continues to transform the national conversation around working families.

One of the highlights of the evening was hearing our First Lady of Illinois, M.K. Pritzker speak about the importance of supporting working moms. Her commitment to advancing initiatives that strengthen families, improve access to childcare, and promote healthier communities is making a meaningful impact across Illinois.

The evening reinforced that affordable childcare is not simply a family issue. It is a healthcare issue, a workforce issue, an education issue, and an economic imperative. When parents have access to quality childcare, our healthcare workforce is stronger, educational opportunities expand, and communities thrive.

As a healthcare leader and Harper College Trustee, I am proud to support policies that expand opportunity, strengthen our workforce, and invest in families. Conversations like these remind us that when we support working parents, we create healthier communities and a stronger future for everyone.
