On September 1, 2012, CEO and Founder Jennifer Prell started Elderwerks. Throughout the years, there have been many changes, but our mission remains the same.

We are here to provide senior living coordination, advocacy, and education to older adults, seniors, and families by offering information, referrals, and guidance needed to make appropriate decisions regarding senior living, home care, benefits, and supportive services. This includes education on senior topics for community members and professionals.

Join us on Sept 9 for a virtual presentation of “Early Onset Geriatric Conditions.”

Chronic disease changes the trajectory of one’s life. Often seen in older adults, we are now seeing some of the same chronic diseases manifesting themselves among younger adults. You will learn about the 10 most common chronic diseases in older adults, what that looks like statistically, and compare them to those of younger adults. Discuss prevention for those groups and how the homeless are affected differently.

Join us on August 20 for “Recognizing and Reporting Abuse and Neglect” at 10 am.

You will learn about the different types of elder abuse, how to recognize the signs, and how it can happen inside a health care setting or within the person’s home. After this session, you’ll understand the definition of abuse as defined by the Centers for Medicare Services, and your role in reporting wherever the setting. We will also discuss the role of Adult Protective Services in reporting abuse.

This is a Continuing Education (CE) course intended for nurses, social workers, home care administrators, and professional counselors.
