Today, the City of Palatka celebrates all fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who make a difference in their families and our community. Fathers offer guidance, support, strength, and encouragement, shaping future generations with their dedication and love.

This Father's Day, we thank all the dads who work every day to make our community stronger, whether at home, at work, or by helping others. Thank you for your positive impact and for being a role model to those who look up to you.

All of us at the City of Palatka wish you a happy, safe, and memorable Father's Day.

Today, the City of Palatka stands with communities across the country to recognize Juneteenth. This day marks the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and progress. Juneteenth is a time to honor the struggles and achievements of those who came before us and to reflect on the importance of unity, equality, and opportunity for everyone. As we observe this day, we invite our community to learn, reflect, celebrate, and recognize the lasting contributions of African Americans to our nation’s history and culture.

Honor. Reflect. Celebrate.

Reveal Thursday!

Did you guess correctly?

Yesterday’s “Where Am I Wednesday” location was the Robert H. Jenkins, Jr. Community Center, located on North 19th Street. The center serves as an important gathering place for residents. It stands as a tribute to the legacy of Robert H. Jenkins, Jr., a respected community leader whose dedication and service helped shape the Palatka community.

Today, the Robert H. Jenkins, Jr. Community Center continues to bring people together through youth programs, community events, educational opportunities, recreation activities, and neighborhood engagement. It remains a place where residents can connect, learn, and build a stronger community for future generations.

We hope you’ve enjoyed learning more about this important community landmark through our “Where Am I Wednesday” and “Reveal Thursday” series.

Be sure to join us next week as we explore another hidden gem and test your knowledge of our community!
