As most people know School is back in session, with that being said vehicle speed in school zones will be enforced. Additionally the Palestine Police Department along with State and County Law Enforcement will have a ZERO tolerance for operating a cellular/mobile device while driving in any part of the school zones or on any part of the campuses. The exception will be if you are over the age of 21 and are talking on a hand's free device. Thanks for your understanding.

As of late we have had multiple incidents where someone who needs help will call Officers whose phone numbers they have. This is problematic as that Officer may not be working at that time or they may not answer because they are enjoying their family, Church, life or resting. This also delays valuable time in emergency situations where seconds count. We as a Police Department want to get to your situation as quickly as we can and relaying information from Officer to Officer takes time. Thank you for your understanding.

This is a scam of no cause for concern. Please delete and report it as junk and block the number. Messages like these are scammers fishing for people to call and give them their information. Also Text messages of similar fashion without a picture and just words are also a scam. If it were actual communication from a court, it would come through the mail and they would actually know your name.
