Welcome All!

Join us on August 17 for our monthly meeting and hear from Vice Chair of the Republican Party of Texas (RPT), David Covey.

David will be bringing important updates from the state convention, as well as plans and actions from the RPT to help us keep Texas red in November, protect our water, secure our elections, eliminate property taxes, and more!

Refreshments and social at 6 pm, event starts at 6:30 pm.

Per our VP, please be there on time Monday night. Precinct chairs from all over East Texas counties who were at the gala plan to be at our meeting Monday night. D’Rinda Randall, Rhonda Ward, Daniel Hunt to name a few will be there to hear what David Covey has to say. We need to be set up early. Have ample food, eat and visit from 6 pm to 6:30 pm. Move from the kitchen area for the first time to the sanctuary auditorium. NO FOOD or DRINKS allowed in the sanctuary

HEY COUNTY ASSESSOR I'M TALKING TO YOU!! This is my PERSONAL OPINION!!
Hypothetically........ I'm being taxed on money I never made. Let that sink in.
If I bought my property outright for $200000
in 2014
Now the county says it's worth $452000
Did I sell it? No.
Did I make a profit? No.
Did I get a check for $252,000? No.
But my taxes jumped like I did.
That's the problem.
This isn't income.
This isn't cash.
This is a number someone decided on paper
- and now l'm being billed for it.
If my stock portfolio doubles, I don't pay taxes until I sell.
If my income doesn't increase, I don't magically owe more income tax.
So why does owning a home work differently?
Why am I being taxed on unrealized gains?
A house isn't just an investment — it's where people live. And this system means you can do everything right, pay off your home, and still get squeezed harder every year because of a number you never turned into money.
You don't truly own something if you can be taxed out of it.
This isn't about "services" or "inflation."
It's about being charged for value you never received.
And people are starting to notice.

This needs to stop. So many elderly prople lose their homes and property they spent a life time paying for over taxes we shouldn't have to keep paying. Copied from someone else.
This needs to be dealt with at the state level!
