Good afternoon Village of Palisade!

The sand at the park where the playground equipment is will be sprayed for pests today. Please stay away from the sanded areas at the playground for the next two days (8/17, 8/18)

Village Tree and Sidewalk Maintenance

Over the next month or two, the Village will be checking trees throughout town to make sure branches overhanging sidewalks and streets are properly trimmed.

Under Village code 8-201 Sidewalks; overhanging branches , property owners are responsible for maintaining trees on their property so that branches are kept at least
• 8' feet above sidewalks
•12' feet above the street

Branches may also need to be trimmed if they interfere with streetlights or interfere with use of our sidewalks and streets .

Village staff will be measuring and identifying trees that need attention. If your property is found to be out of compliance, you will receive a letter notifying you that the tree needs to be trimmed.

We’re giving everyone advance notice so homeowners have plenty of time to take a look at their trees and identify any low-hanging branches before inspections are completed.

Hello Villagers! A quick update on our trash service this week: our regular driver is out and the substitute driver had an unexpected event and was unable to complete the route. Service will resume soon, hopefully tomorrow, if not by the end of the week. Thank you for your patience while the company tries to get the service resumed promptly!

If you have Great Plains services please call or answer the phone if you receive a call from (620) 249-2708! They company is laying fiber to your homes and they must speak with you to find out where you would like it buried ! Thank you :)
