Villages of Hope We are dedicated to providing a affordable housing and assistance to youth as they develop life-skills and resources and transition to healthy independence.

Villages of Hope is a sister-entity of Place of Hope providing independent living residential support and essential life-skills development for emancipated foster youth, homeless youth, single moms with kids and human trafficking survivors. Villages of Hope is an affiliate of Place of Hope and has been organized to provide independent living, residential support, and essential life-skills developm

ent services for emancipated foster youth who "age-out" of the state's foster care system and other homeless youth. On any given day, Villages of Hope will serve up to 18 youth ages eighteen to twenty-five in our supervised transitional apartment setting. Life skills training and development opportunities will also be made available to young adults in transition who are living with family members, friends, in other facilities, and attempting to live on their own. Joann's Cottage is a faith-based, family-style maternity home for girls providing comprehensive care for young mothers and young mothers-to-be. The maternity home operates at a secured location in a traditional family neighborhood, welcoming girls into a safe, healthy, and productive environment 24 hours a day/seven days a week.

Join us for our Angel Moms Regional Expansion Kickoff!

Recently, one of our foster youth sat down with nationally acclaimed trial attorney Sigrid McCawley to talk about the work that shaped her career and the survivors who continue to shape it.

Sigrid spoke about her experience volunteering at an abuse shelter in her area. It changed the way she looked at those she was serving and helped her better see and understand what they were facing. That understanding is what led her to make a difference through her work. You do not want to miss what Sigrid has to say at this event.

Most people move into a house. Victorious built hers!

Victorious grew up in foster care with us at Place of Hope, and when she became an adult she transitioned into Villages of Hope. Through the Independent Living Program, she worked alongside Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County to build the home she now lives in, putting in the hours herself, learning what it takes, and earning the keys.

In preparation for move-in, our Angel Moms surprised her by furnishing it room by room, so that the day she walked in it was already a home. Thank you to our Angel Moms chapters in Boca Raton, Wellington, Jupiter, and Palm Beach, and to Katharine Moss, Killy Smith of Consign and Design, Jerry and Chaffi of Decades Consignment, Debra Buccina, Emily and Patrick Simon, Justin and Jessica Hunter, and Flavia Buffington.

These are the kinds of opportunities our residents have access to, and the impact is lasting. Victorious has also traveled to North Carolina to speak on behalf of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County, showing other young people what is possible and how to get there. We cannot wait to see what she does next.

Dr. Mehmet Oz visited our campus and shared this with us:

"Visiting Place of Hope gave me goosebumps, as the buildings, parents and especially kids melted away the nihilism that surrounds Foster Care. Charles Bender's team is providing best in class long-term housing for children unable to succeed in the regular foster care system... shining a bright light on the path to dramatically improved lives for kids in Foster Care."

163 children are now safe.

Operation Statewide Shield brought together FDLE, Victim Services, the Florida Human Trafficking Victims Fund, and Place of Hope over the past week to recover children who were missing and being exploited.

More than half of these children were from right here in Central and South Florida. It is frightening that these issues are in our neighborhoods and affecting our children.

163 children were saved.

Last week, we were a part of Operation Statewide Shield to recover 163 children who were missing and being exploited across the world. Over 50% of these children were from Central and South Florida. Alongside FDLE, Victim Services, and Florida Human Trafficking Victims Fund, each of them were found and brought back to safety.

For 26 years, Place of Hope has been on the front lines of this fight, going into the darkness to bring our youth back to safety. That is what you are part of when you support Place of Hope.

We are honored to announce Emily Pantelides as chairwoman of our 2026 Runway of Hope.

Emily Pantelides has stood with Place of Hope for many years, and continually creates opportunities to give back to our kids and young adults. She cares about what becomes possible for a young person who has the right support behind them.

Meet Whitney and Demetrius.

They have been foster parents with Place of Hope for 6 years. They both grew up in foster care, and Place of Hope is where they landed during their childhood years. What they were given here is what helped them become the adults they are today, and it is exactly what they now pour into the children in their home.

Whitney and Demetrius have dedicated their lives to raising and caring for the children who come into our care. We are grateful for them beyond what a post can say!

Aaliyah grew up at Place of Hope after being in the foster care system. This summer, she came back as an Advancement Intern.

Aaliyah dedicated her time to working on our podcast series, making important website updates, and storytelling through our donor materials. She also was the one setting up interviews with community leaders like Sigrid McCawley, preparing the questions, and sitting in the chair across from them in order to advance our mission forward.

As an aspiring lawyer, getting these opportunities to sit across from individuals like Sigrid McCawley is something she cherished.
