OBJECT OF ROTARY

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
First: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
Second: High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupat

ion as an opportunity to serve society;
Third: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life;
Fourth: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

On Saturday, May 30th, twelve Palm Desert Rotarians (plus Amy’s Jim) attended the District 5330 “Get Together” and awards ceremony at Crafton Hills College in Yucaipa 🎓✨.

Palm Desert Rotary received the Large Club – Club of Excellence Award 🏆, and five members earned individual honors:

• Rotarians of the Year (District 5330): Maryalice Owings & Jennifer Loretta 🌟
• Power of Recognition Awards: Mary Scott, Carol Pipitone, Marilyn Sanderson 🎖️🎉

Huge congratulations to all for these well‑deserved achievements 👏💛.

Our club left feeling proud of everything accomplished under President Priscilla Dewing’s leadership 🙌. We look forward to continuing our service to the Coachella Valley and abroad as Maryalice begins her presidential year on July 1st 🌍💙.

Another perfect Palm Desert day had everyone lingering outside ☀️—but we finally got the meeting rolling!

President Priscilla Dewing kicked things off (once the mic arrived 🎤), and Jack Fitzsimmons led the flag salute 🇺🇸. Great to see new faces and familiar friends back again! 🙌

The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a three-day Leadership Conference. It is a reward for outstanding youth to further develop their leadership skills. RYLA combines learning in a casual, relaxed atmosphere with social and fun time to provide a fast paced and memorable leadership experience.
