DSSAR was called out today at 2:45 pm to look for a hiker who was separated from her party due to disress. In 118 degree heat we set up command post with the help of RMRU and assisted Rescue 9 Aviation with the search.

On Saturday, June 27 at 3:26 PM Desert Sheriff Search And Rescue received a mutual aid call from RMRU regarding a 70 year-old subject on the PCT 4 miles up Snow Creek who had ran out of water and was dehydrated. When we arrived at the command post, a hasty team, litter team and support team from RMRU had already been deployed shortly ahead of us. DSSAR team headed up, thinking that we would help with a very difficult carryout. Thankfully the subject was able to be treated on scene and we all hiked out making it back just after dusk.  The very happy subject wanted a group photo and we were happy to oblige, (last photo)
