Today our students took part in one of the most anticipated events of the year, House Sorting Day. This tradition, rooted in Greek values, brings the whole school together by placing every student and staff member into one of four houses, Athena, Arete, Philotimo, or Sophrosyne. Each house stands for a core virtue, wisdom, excellence, compassion, and self-control, and the idea is simple: build character right alongside academics.
One could feel the excitement across campus, from the students cheering for their new houses to the teachers and staff getting just as into it. Getting sorted is really just the start. Over the year, students will earn points for good character, school spirit, academic effort, and looking out for one another. It's a fun way to build friendly competition while making sure every child feels like they belong.
At Plato Academy we know that a great education goes beyond the classroom. Our House System is one of the many ways we help students grow into thoughtful, confident, and kind young leaders.
