Today’s the day - our big Book Sale is officially underway. Most items are just 25¢, and yes, you can absolutely fill a bag and make your weekend reading stack amazing. We have books for kids and adults. Stop by, browse, and bring home some new favorites. Cash and cards accepted.

Property Taxes and Our East Lake Community Library

ELCL receives over 95% of its total income from Property Taxes (also called Ad Valorem tax revenue). Less than 5% comes from fundraising, grants or fees. If the referendum to reduce property taxes passes in November, our library will lose a significant amount of income.

What will be the Impact?

The revenue reduction will have to result in:
- Reduced hours for patrons
- Fewer adult and children’s programs
- A smaller library collection
- Fewer new books
- Reduction or elimination of digital services (eBooks, databases, streaming)
- Staff reductions

If you are not in favor of these outcomes then please speak up! Tell your State Legislators, friends and neighbors how this referendum will affect their community!
