What a morning at the Tram! 🏔️🏃‍♀️

Tram Road Challenge 2026 is officially in the books, and we couldn’t be more grateful and inspired by all who participated. Thank you to every runner, walker, volunteer, staff member, and cheerleader who made it such an incredible event! ❤️

More than 1,000 people registered to take on the challenge: 3.7 miles with 2,000 feet of elevation gain. 🙌

All were greeted at the finish line by a variety of vendor booths and swag to take home, including an interactive medal with a moving tramcar.

We can’t wait for next year’s challenge! In the meantime, follow to stay in the loop.

Before you even step inside the largest rotating tramcar in the world, the story starts right where you're standing. Our Valley Station was designed by renowned architect Albert Frey, along with Robson C. Chambers and John Porter Clark, and it's as much an engineering feat as the tram ride itself. 🚡

Because the station sits along a gorge, Frey designed it like a covered bridge, allowing the creek to pass underneath. When the Tramway opened in September 1963, visitors were mesmerized by the large triangular windows and the corrugated aluminum ceiling (a trademark of Frey's work). In 1996, the Valley Station was designated as a Class 1 Historic Site by the City of Palm Springs.

The view from the top is unforgettable, and so is the architecture you'll see along the way.
