We've added a (lengthy) article about Nextdoor to the Issues & Ideas section of the website today.

Make a cup of coffee, kick off your shoes, and contemplate whether our city's eagerness to adopt this social media website that's claiming to make all our lives better was such a good idea: http://www.yesincludeme.com/nextdoor.html

This page examines the social media website Nextdor.com which is approved by the City of Palm Springs and is used is many of our neighborhoods including Tahquitz River Estates

Nextdoor.com is widely used in Palm Springs and elsewhere. We've learned some things about Nextdoor.com that have given us pause for thought and posted them to the Yes, Include me! blog: http://yesincludeme.com/blog.

Hello!

I've started the petition "The City of Palm Springs, California: Support and aid residents and business owners to make use of neglected, disused or abandoned property, land and buildings in the City by bringing them back into use by citizens for lawful purposes, even if only on a temporary basis." and need your help to get it off the ground.

Will you take 30 seconds to sign it right now? Here's the link:

https://www.change.org/p/the-city-of-palm-springs-californi…

Here's why it's important:

In light of recent events, including a murder and a hotel fire, and the long-standing problems stemming from persons engaging in undesirable, anti-social and criminal behaviors in our City, we residents, property-owners, business-owners, visitors and business employees living, staying or working in the City of Palm Springs, California, call for the government of our city, its Council members, the City Manager and staff to take action to support and aid the bringing back into use for lawful purposes currently disused, abandoned, empty or neglected property, whether land or buildings, even if only on a temporary basis as, by making such use of abandoned property, undesirable behaviors will be reduced in or on them.

You can sign my petition by clicking here.

Thanks!
