Meet our handsome AV Press of the week: 😉💚GISMO💚😉

Gismo is a two -year- old Labrador Retriever/Husky mix. He was brought to the Palmdale Animal Care Center as an owner surrender, stating his previous owners are moving. Gismo. Gismo allowed being handled by the medical staff and his handler as well. His body posture was upright, he was flexible and easily approached the staff and his handler.

During his play yard time, Gismo's e had a loose body and soft eyes as he sat next to the runner calmly while the collar was being clasped around his neck. He entered the yard and ran over to the handlers to solicit affection, bypassing the other dogs.

A female border collie came up to him playfully, trying to entice chase play. Gismo exchanged a good greeting but was not interested in play. He spent a few minutes exploring the yard and acclimating to his surroundings. As time passed, he began to relax. He engaged the other dogs with a loose body and soft eyes.

He was very playful with a female Corso who enticed him for play. He enjoyed chase play with her and was vocal, barking and growling while running. He continued seeking affection from the handlers, sitting next to them while leaning against their legs. Gismo also enjoyed splashing around in the pool to cool off. He remained social and playful for the rest of his stay in the yard. He needs continued socialization.

Gismo had the great day out meeting the communities of Palmdale at the Palmdale Amphitheater's Movie night. Gismo was super friendly, allowed petting, loved the attention of people from all ages! He made a great impression and made many friends there!

Gismo is BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, LARGE DOGS OK, MEDIUM ENERGY. Come and meet Gismo at the Palmdale Animal Care Center, 11am to 5pm, Mondays to Saturdays. He could be a great addition to your family.

Meet this wonderful dog named SAK! Sak is a 4year old, altered female Australian Shepherd/Cattle dog mix with black and tricolor fur. She was an owner surrender dog because her previous owners are moving and could not take her with them.

Sak was reluctant to approach at first, a typical demeanor seen in any owner surrender animals. He was quiet and no aggression noted. He allowed being handled and went to his assigned kennel without any problem.

During his time at the play yard, as her handler opened the kennel gate, approached the handler well and she walked with a light pull on the leash to the catch pen. The runner easily clasped the collar around her neck. She entered the play yard with a soft body and a neutral tail.

She was approached by a female shepherd and exchanged a timid greeting with her. She sought out handlers often to solicit affection. She approached a male shepherd and exchanged a soft greeting with him. She roamed the yard and explored her surroundings with the other dogs. A female collie mix approached her and exchanged a soft greeting. She sought out handlers often to solicit affection. She remained social the rest of her time in the yard. Sak is social with other dogs and has no play style at this time.

Some volunteers had the pleasure of socializing Sak. She showed her best behavior, walks with a slight pull on the leash. She was noted to be an easy-to-handle dog, loves being around other people and seemed to get along with other dogs.

Sak is BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, LARGE DOGS OK, MEDIUM ENERGY. Give this wonderful dog a second leash in life. She is ready to go home today. You can come and meet her at the Palmdale Animal Care Center during its open to the public hours of 11am to 5pm, Mondays to Saturdays.

You could be the best home for this lovely dog.

Board Of Supervisors' pets of the week:

Blackie is a two (2) year old black male German Shepherd/Alaskan Husky mix, He was brought to the Palmdale Animal Care Center by his previous owner. They are moving and could not take Blackie with them. While being medically examined, Blackie showed his happy self, allowing the medical staff and his handler to take care of him.

He was offered food to which he readily ate. It was noted his body posture is upright with neutral ears and soft eye gaze. He was taken to his kennel without any incidents. He walked well on leash too.

Blackie was socialized by volunteers, and they really enjoyed his company in the play yard. He allowed petting, loves time outside the kennel and loves attention from the volunteers.

On June 12th, Blackie spent his afternoon at the Palmdale Amphitheater to meet and greet the communities of Palmdale attending the Movie Night. He seemed to be happy to see and meet many people at the park. He enjoyed the attention he received. And loved the petting of all ages of people. He even sad down and spent some time with kids.

Blackie is BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, CALM DOGS (REC), MEDIUM ENERGY. He is ready to meet his new family at the Palmdale ACC during its open to the public hours of 11am to 5pm, Mondays to Saturdays.

Come meet him and maybe you will be the best home for this dog. He needs a forever home and a forever family.

Did you say, how about cats for BOS? Well... here is MEW!

Meet our one (1) year two (2) month old white and black altered male Domestic Shorthaired cat, named MEW. He was brought to the Palmdale Animal Care Center as an owner surrender because they are moving. Mew allowed being handled by the medical staff. He was seeking attention and petting from his handler as well.

Volunteers have been socializing Mew. He enjoys his play time at the Cattery. Volunteers offer him toys to play with and some cuddle time that he truly enjoys.

He is available to go home today. He needs a home that will take care of him and will be able to give him his forever home.

Palmdale ACC is open to the public from 11am to 5pm, Mondays to Saturdays. Come meet him and maybe you will be the best home for this wonderful cat.

Here is our BOS Pet of the week:

A stray by the given name AVENGER, was found running the streets of 4000 block of East Avenue S4. He was brought to the Palmdale Animal Care Center, the person who brought him said Avenger is friendly was easy to handle.

During his medical examination, Avenger showed his friendly self with wiggly tail, upright posture. He approached readily with his neutral ear and soft eye gaze. He ate the food given to him. He walked well on leash and entered his kennel without any hesitation.

When taken to the play yard, Avenger walked with a light pull on the leash to the catch pen. His handler easily clasped the collar around his neck. He entered the play yard with a soft body and a neutral tail. He was approached by a female shepherd and exchanged a soft greeting with her. He approached a male pit bull and exchanged a soft greeting him.

He quickly approached a female pit bull. They exchanged a soft greeting, but she gave him a snap correction for his pushy greeting. He took the correction and walked away. A male shepherd offered him a male bow. The accepted the play and the two engaged in a push/pull play around the yard.

He would seek out handlers and jump up on them to solicit affection. He needs basic manners training. He is very high energy and was trying to get multiple dogs in the yard to try to play with him. A female shepherd gave him a snap correction for his high energy. He took the correction and ran off to play with a male shepherd. He was removed from the yard and returned to his kennel without issues.

Avenger is social with other dogs and has a push/pull play style. He is BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, LARGE DOGS OK, HIGH ENERGY. Avenger is a happy go lucky dog that could make the best dog for an active family. He is now available to meet you and your family.

He could definitely benefit if sent to Behavior and Manners training to capture his best potential as a pet to your family!



Palmdale ACC is open to the public from 11am to 5pm, Mondays to Saturday. Maybe you could give this happy dog his forever home and forever family.

Patty Cake is a 3years old Pit Bull/Border Collie mix black and white female. She was found running the streets of 37000 block of 80th Street East of Palmdale. She was friendly to the medical staff, and she approached her handler readily. Her body posture was upright, flexible and relaxed. With her wiggly tail, Patty Cake was whining with soft eye gaze and neutral ear. She showed her friendly and easy to handle self.



During her time in the play yard, her handler coaxed her out of the kennel on the leash but pancaked on the leash once outside. She refused to walk so her handler carried her to the catch pen. The handler easily clasped the collar around her neck. She entered the play yard timidly with a tucked tail and concerned eyes.

She was approached by a male shepherd and exchanged a timid greeting with him. A female pit bull approached her and exchanged a soft greeting with her. A male shepherd approached her and exchanged a timid greeting. When he lingered in her face, she gave him a correction of showing him teeth.

She sought out handlers by jumping up on them to solicit affection. She began to relax as she roamed and explored the yard. A male shepherd offered her a play bow. She accepted the play and engaged in a gentle/dainty play around the yard with him and a female shepherd. A female shepherd mix entered the yard, and she exchanged a soft greeting with her.

She remained social and playful the remainder of her time in the yard. Patty cake is social with other dogs and has a gentle/dainty play style. She could very well benefit if taken to manners training.

Patty Cake participated in an outdoor event at the Palmdale Amphitheater to where she met a great number of people. She allowed being touched by all ages of patrons there preparing to watch a movie. Patty Cake was happy to get attention from everyone as well.

Patty Cake is BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION WITH KNOWN HISTORY OF AGGRESSION DISCLOSURE, LARGE DOGS OK, MEDIUM ENERGY.

A one (1) year old tan male, handsome German Shepherd was found running the streets of 2500 block of Joshua Hills Drive, East of Palmdale. This friendly dog was given the name of Bearstein.

Bearstein has shown his great personality, accepting handling from the medical staff. His body posture was upright; he was flexible and relaxed. He received lots of petting and he was asking for attention from his handler.

During his play yard time, Bearstein walked with a light pull on the leash to the catch pen. The handler easily clasped the collar around his neck. He entered the play yard with a soft body and a neutral tail.

He was approached by a female shepherd and exchanged a tense greeting with her. He was approached by a male shepherd and exchanged a timid greeting with him. He sought out handlers by jumping up on them to solicit affection. He needs basic manners training.

He began to relax as he roamed the yard. The female shepherd offered him a play bow. He accepted the play and the two engaged in a gentle/dainty play style around the yard. A female pit bull entered the yard and approached him. He exchanged a soft greeting with her and offered her a play bow. She did not accept the play and walked away.

He remained playful and social the remainder of his time in the play yard. He is social with other dogs and has a gentle/dainty play style.

Bearstein was noted to be a great helper dog in the play yard for his gentle dainty play style and very friendly approach and welcoming attitude toward the other dog in the play yard.

He BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, LARGE DOGS OK, MEDIUM ENERGY. He is now ready to meet and greet his family and could be adopted pending being altered.

Meet Bearstein and you may be the new family he truly desires to be the forever one. Palmdale Animal Care Center is open from 11am to 5pm, Mondays to Saturdays.

He could be adopted with a health waiver. Please inquire at the Palmdale Animal Care Center for further information!
