Dispatch really is a small world!

A shift this past weekend happened to include a mother and daughter working side by side. Kelley and Rhi both recently joined the 9GBase team after careers with other public safety agencies, and somehow ended up in the same room answering calls together.

It’s not every day you get to work a shift with family, especially in this line of work. We thought it was a pretty cool moment and a photo worth sharing.

We’re glad these two dispatch transplants found their way to Palmer and are excited to have them as part of the team!

Today we remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we’re able to enjoy the freedoms and safety we often take for granted.

From all of us at Palmer Police Department, we hope everyone has a safe Memorial Day as we take a moment to honor those who never made it home.

We held a small get together for department members and a few others who knew Jim. It was a great way to remember our fallen brother. Next to Chief Bozeman on the table is a flag which was flown above the Capital in Washington D.C. last year on this date. Thank you to Sergeant Morgan and Sen. Dan Sullivan for arranging it.

We still think you of daily and will never forget your sacrifice.

Andddd another scam is making the rounds. This time it’s fake “traffic notice” texts trying to get people to click links or pay fines.

Just a reminder, we are not going to text or call you about outstanding traffic citations or demand payment over the phone. If you get one of these messages, don’t click anything. Delete it and move on with your day.

These scammers are getting more convincing, so please double check before responding to anything that feels off.

The response from Officer Basuil, Officer Barkwood, Officer Auginaush, Det. Sergeant Clark, Det. Moore, and Dispatcher Sharon showed excellent teamwork and coordination to quickly identify and locate the suspect and place them into custody.

An Anchorage man was sentenced yesterday to seven years in prison for robbing two banks last year.

At this past Tuesday’s council meeting the CITY OF PALMER, ALASKA officially recognized April 12–18, 2026 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

Dispatchers are the ones answering when people call 911. They’re the voice on the other end getting the information, keeping things moving, and making sure their responders know what they’re walking into. It’s not something most people ever see, but it’s a big part of how everything works.

We were glad to have a couple of our own there to accept the proclamation in person.

We’re really lucky to have the team we do.

Happy National Telecommunicator Week to the amazing dispatchers at 9GBase! You’re the calm in the chaos, the heroes behind the headsets, and the only people who can juggle ten things at once without throwing anything. Thank you for keeping everything running smoothly—no matter how wild the day gets. We appreciate you everyday!
