I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but a lot of things just aren’t working as well as they should.

Government is trying to manage challenges that have changed dramatically, while many of the laws and systems we rely on were built for a different time. Too often, we keep making small fixes without stepping back and asking whether the system itself needs to be evaluated.

At some point, maintaining the status quo becomes harder than changing it, and we are at that point in some respects. It's time to take a step back and create laws and systems that serve the people.

Christian is 36. He brings a different generation’s perspective, new ideas, and a willingness to figure things out. He brings a critical eye to the role, looking carefully at what works, what doesn’t, and what we can do better.

Pennsylvania can do better. Carbon County can too. We have strong communities, capable people, valuable resources, and a lot to build on. But we must work together. And we need a different kind of leadership.

The people who have been making these decisions for years have also helped shape the systems we are struggling with today. If the same approaches keep producing the same problems, it is reasonable to ask whether it is time for a different approach.

If we want better results, we have to be willing to do things differently.

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Christian recently spoke at the Pennsylvania DEP hearing on the proposed Mora Solar project, bringing his years of experience working with zoning and land-development ordinances to the discussion.

His position was simple: Don't approve or reject a project before the record is complete. Finish the plans. Answer DEP's outstanding technical questions. Give the public an opportunity to review and comment on those answers. And demonstrate that the High Quality streams and Exceptional Value wetlands affected by the project will remain protected throughout construction.

By the time voters approached Christian about running, the deadline to file nominating petitions for the Republican primary had already passed. So the voters organized a write-in campaign instead.

Democratic voters ultimately chose Christian through the write-in process, making him their nominee for State Representative in November.
