🚨 Fraud/Scam Activity Warning 🚨

The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous reports of fraudulent activity involving impersonation of a member of the Sheriff's Office. In these reports, the caller's phone number appears to be the Lenawee County Sheriff's Office, or another local number, and the caller identifies themselves as a Deputy, Sergeant, or Lieutenant. These scammers claim the person missed jury duty, failed to appear for court, or have an outstanding warrant. The scammer will then pressure the person receiving the call to act immediately by paying a bond, fine, or fee to avoid arrest.

THIS IS A SCAM

Law enforcement agencies DO NOT call residents demanding immediate payment to avoid arrest. The Lenawee County Sheriff's Office will never instruct you to pay a bond, fine, or fee over the phone, by gift card, cryptocurrency, wire transfer, or through a payment app.

🚨 TRAINING EXERCISE IN BLISSFIELD – AUGUST 19 🚨

If you see an increased presence of emergency responders, emergency vehicles and activity around the railroad in Blissfield on Wednesday, August 19, there is no need for alarm.

Lenawee County Emergency Management, Norfolk Southern and local emergency response agencies will be conducting a planned Hazardous Materials Training Exercise throughout the day and into the evening.

đźš’ Expect increased emergency responder activity
đźš‚ Training will take place on and around rail equipment
🕛 Exercises are scheduled from noon–4 PM and 6–10 PM
đźš— Normal traffic is expected and should not be impeded
âś… This is a training exercise, not an actual emergency

These realistic exercises help our local responders practice coordination, strengthen their skills and prepare for the unique challenges of a rail-related emergency.

RENEWAL! Please understand this Millage request is a RENEWAL. NOT something new, NOT to fund the new fire station, NOT to fund future building additions/improvements.
