🚒 A Full-Circle Story of Service 🚒

The Palmyra Fire Department Rescue Truck has a unique history. After serving the residents of Palmyra, this apparatus proudly served the Ellis Grove Fire Department, answering calls and protecting its community .

When the opportunity arose, Ellis Grove Department purchased the rescue truck and gave it a new home, ensuring that a dependable piece of fire service equipment could continue its mission. Through the dedication of their members and support from their community, the truck was refurbished, lettered for Ellis Grove and placed back into service.

Today, the rescue continues to respond to emergencies carrying critical rescue equipment and supporting their firefighters on a wide variety of incidents. While its name on the side may have changed, its purpose remains the same—serving those in need.

This truck is a reminder that fire service traditions live on through the apparatus, equipment, and firefighters who continue to answer the call. We are proud to have them carry legacy that began in Palmyra and carry it forward in Ellis Grove

The Palmyra Fire Department and East Palmyra Fire Department have a long history of working side by side to protect our community. Whether responding to emergencies, training together, or supporting one another at incidents, our partnership demonstrates the strength of teamwork and dedication.

Every call we answer is a reminder that no department works alone. Through cooperation, communication, and a shared commitment to service, we are able to provide the highest level of protection and care to the residents and visitors of our community.

Members of the Palmyra Fire Department East Palmyra Fire Department Farmington Fire Department and Victor Fire Department recently participated in hands-on vehicle fire training to sharpen their skills and enhance firefighter safety. The training focused on proper fire attack techniques, scene size-up, hazard recognition, and dealing with modern vehicle components such as fuel systems, airbags, and electrical hazards. Through realistic scenarios, firefighters practiced extinguishment methods, equipment deployment, and teamwork to ensure they are prepared to respond quickly and effectively when vehicle fires occur. Continuous training like this helps our members maintain a high level of readiness while providing the best possible service to our community.
