🚨 SCAM ALERT – PLEASE READ & SHARE 🚨

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has taken multiple calls today from citizens reporting phone calls from individuals claiming to be Deputies or Investigators with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

In these calls, the scammer is:
• Trying to obtain personal information about another person, or
• Claiming the caller has a warrant for their arrest and must pay money immediately to avoid jail.

This is 100% a scam.

⚠️ Reminder: Law enforcement will never call you to demand money, request gift cards, wire transfers, or threaten arrest over the phone.

If you receive a call like this:
• Do not provide any information
• Do not send money
• Hang up and report it to your local law enforcement agency

These scam calls appear to be picking up again, so please stay alert and help spread the word to friends and family—especially those who may be more vulnerable.

🚨 UPDATE: Missing Juvenile Located Safely 🚨

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to share that missing juvenile Lalita K. Davidson has been located safe.

Davidson was reported missing from a residence on Highway MM near Hannibal on November 30, 2025. Earlier today, at approximately 2:30 p.m., she was found safe following coordinated efforts between multiple agencies.

We want to extend our sincere appreciation to the Edmundson Police Department, the Missouri Department of Social Services State Technical Assistance Team, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control, and the Hannibal Police Department for their assistance and collaboration.

Thank you to everyone who shared information and supported this effort. Your awareness and cooperation play a vital role in keeping our community safe.
