Palmyra Area Lions Club The Palmyra Lions Club is a 75 year old civic organization that is a respected part of the Palmyra community.

We offer many services to the community which include help for eye doctor appointments and eyeglasses, based on a review process. We lend convalescent equipment to those in need which include wheelchairs, hospital beds, walkers, canes, potty chairs, shower seats, and other equipment.

The Palmyra Area Lions Club participated in the Palmyra Memorial Day Parade this morning. Our 8x12 flag was carried through the parade by members of our BBGun team, club members and family. Our flag bearers were followed by our veterans flag float which was made and donated by long-time community member, Glenn Kohr. A big thanks goes out to everyone who came out to see the parade in honor of those who served our Country and gave it all. 🇺🇸

It was a busy week for the Palmyra Area Lions Club. The week began with our annual HEP night when members of Palmya, Hershey and Elizabethtown Lions Clubs come together to connect and share updates on Club happenings. The Palmyra Club was instrumental in founding both the Hershey and Elizabethtown Clubs. Members enjoyed an informative presentation by Attorney Jeremy
D. Wagner on "Basic Estate Planning". Later in the week, the Palmyra Area Lions Club member Lion Carl and volunteer Pam conducted a Highway Clean-up on Gravel Hill Road. Thank you! Are you looking for an opportunity to give back to the Palmyra area community? Consider joining Lions! PM us today.

This year, more than 3,000 pairs of eyeglasses collected by the Palmyra Area Lions Club will travel with Open Word Ministries all the way to Kenya, where they’ll be distributed to local residents at free eye clinics.

Before the journey begins, dedicated Open Word Ministries volunteers spend countless hours sorting, cleaning, and preparing each pair for travel and distribution.

Enjoy this sneak peek into the care and effort behind the scenes that helps make clearer vision possible.

Since its founding, the Palmyra Area Lions Club has provided convalescent equipment—including wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and bedside commodes—to community members at no cost.

Recently, we received a unique and heartwarming request from a local resident who needed to borrow a self-propelled wheelchair (the style with large wheels) to help refresh training for her therapy dog, Beau. As a certified therapy team with KPETS, they wanted to ensure Beau was comfortable and confident working around wheelchairs before returning to visits at nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities.

Thanks to our equipment loan program, the Lions Club was able to provide a wheelchair so Beau could safely practice and become desensitized to it. This training is essential for therapy dogs to feel at ease in healthcare settings and continue bringing comfort to patients.

Beau’s handler shared her gratitude with us, noting how helpful it was to borrow the chair and prepare Beau for successful visits to hospitals and rest homes once again.

We’re proud to support our community in big and small ways—and we love seeing how a simple act of service can help spread comfort, confidence, and care. 🦁💙

Most people drive by and see the outside of the Santa House. Here is a picture of the inside. The big guy in red has traveled back North along with Mrs. Claus. It takes a lot of volunteers to host Santa at the square. The Palmyra Area Lions would like to thank the Palmyra Rotary, Palmyra Garden Club, friends and family for helping to provide their assistance this year. A chance to put smiles on the children's and parents make it all worthwhile. Thank you all that helped support the Santa House. If interested in helping our group of elves, drop the Palmyra Lions a line and someone will get back to thank you. Happy New Year!
