🚨 SCOOTER & E-BIKE SAFETY REMINDER 🚨

Following a serious scooter accident near our area, this is a reminder why Palmyra Public Safety has increased traffic enforcement efforts and issued more traffic citations and warnings this year compared to last year. Our goal is simple — prevent serious injuries and save lives.

Please remind riders to:

🛑 Stop at stop signs and intersections
👀 Watch for vehicles at all times
⛑️ Wear a helmet
💡 Use lights at night
📵 Stay alert and avoid distractions

Parents — a quick conversation at home can make a major difference.

Our thoughts are with everyone involved and the emergency personnel who responded. Stay safe and watch out for one another.

🚔 NATIONAL POLICE WEEK 2026🚔

During National Police Week, we pause to honor the brave law enforcement officers across this country who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Here in the Village of Palmyra, I would like to personally thank our police officers for their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to serving our community each and every day. I also want to recognize and thank their families for the sacrifices they make and for the unwavering support they provide behind the scenes.

I would also like to thank our Fire/EMS Division for their continued teamwork and partnership during emergencies and critical incidents. Public Safety is truly a team effort.

So far this year, the Palmyra Police Division has responded to over 375 calls for service, representing approximately a 60% increase from this same time last year. Despite the increasing demands, our officers continue to provide professional service, proactive enforcement, school safety, and community-focused policing efforts.

These numbers represent more than activity — they represent commitment, sacrifice, and service to our community.

Finally, thank you to the residents of Palmyra for your continued support of our Public Safety personnel.

Please join us this week in recognizing and thanking the men and women who proudly wear the badge and serve our community.

Thank You,
Director Blount

A local resident received this as a text message and came to the station to verify that it was a scam. Do NOT reply to the text or scan the QR code. Make note of the number that the text came from and that can be reported to the Federal Trade Center (FTC) here https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/

After making note of the number, mark it as spam and block the number.

🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨

We are seeing an increase in scam text messages and calls claiming you have unpaid toll fees, traffic citations, jury duty obligations, or even bail payments. These messages often demand immediate payment to avoid enforcement.

⚠️ Know this: The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office or any legitimate law enforcement agency will NEVER text or call you demanding payment or threatening immediate action.

👉 And a quick reality check: Milwaukee doesn’t even have toll roads — so that “unpaid toll” text is your first clue it’s a scam.

If you receive one of these messages:
• Do not click any links or scan QR codes
• Do not provide personal or financial information
• Delete the message and report it as spam

✔️ You can verify legitimate citations through the Milwaukee County Clerk of Courts at (414) 278-5362 or the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Desk at (414) 278-4712.

Stay alert and help protect others by sharing this information.

🚨Palmyra Public Safety-Police Division-Traffic Enforcement Update 🚨

Traffic safety continues to be our #1 concern from residents, and over the past several months our officers have maintained a strong focus on enforcement when not handling calls for service.

📍 High-request areas include:
• Maple Street
• Main Street
• Areas near our schools
• Village highway corridors

Our goal is simple: slow traffic down to prevent serious crashes and injuries.

⚠️ Recent enforcement highlights:
• Vehicle stopped at 90 mph in a 55 mph zone
• Multiple stops for speeds of 50 mph in a 25 mph zone near the Montessori School

These speeds are not just violations—they are dangerous and put our children, families, and community at risk.

📩 See a problem area? Let us know.
Send us a direct message and we will follow up.

🙏 Thank you for your continued support.

⛔️⬇️ SLOW DOWN. DRIVE SAFE. KEEP PALMYRA SAFE. ⬇️⚠️
