Engine 57-16 returned to its roots on Saturday, June 5, 2026. Our crew joined in the Columbia Borough 300th Anniversary Convention Celebration. We're grateful for the hospitality shown by the Columbia fire department members. 8 members went on the engine for the historic trek. The engine has been with our department for 5 years. The members of East End Fire Company #2 of Palo Alto express their profound condolences to the family of former Chief Ed Slaine and Good Intent Fire Company, New Philadelphia on the passing of this esteemed volunteer Chief and Firefighter.

Cat in a tree was not on our Bingo Cards for today.
However, when calls come in we respond.
This morning shortly after 930am there was a Chief call in Port Carbon for a Cat stuck in a tree. 5701 and 5716 assisted Port Carbon with the cat rescue.
The magician of a cat scaled a tree, jumped on one roof then down to a second and then scaled back up to the 1st roof eluding multiple attempts to bring her down.
Then Chief 57-01, now dubbed our Cat Whisperer was able to wrangle her up and bring her down and back to the residence. and wrapped up the cat crusade within 40 mins.

We successfully hosted our inaugural Boot Drive in Pally, synchronizing it with the Borough Yard Sale. We would like to extend our gratitude to all donors who participated today. Our efforts yielded over $1200.00, contributing to both a financial boost and the slowing of traffic. Special thanks are due to the following volunteers who dedicated their time to this event: Olivia, Tyler, Josh, Nate, Tristen, Asa, Jared.
