Hello Neighbors! Please see the update below from Principal Judy regarding after-school usage of Barron Park Elementary School's fields and playground. We apologize to anyone upset by finding the gates accidentally locked this weekend and ask for your patience as our staff work through the kinks on this new policy. We know how much our neighbors respect our school property and value it as a community resource. Together we can ensure our fields, playgrounds and school are safe, clean and ready for learning.

Dear Families,
I wanted to update everyone on the Barron Park gates. Barron Park has been experiencing a variety of challenges after sunset; people on the roof, animals after sunset, a horse on campus, and vandalism. Those all present safety issues and locking the gates after sunset will help with some of those issues. However, we are experiencing a shortage of staff and we have had substitute custodians, who may have locked the gates earlier, or locked them all before sunset. I will be working to ensure that we lock only after sunset. There will be a designated gate that will be open before sunset, the one near the main gate.
I do want to apologize for not communicating earlier about the issues with the facilities, and that some gates would be locked. As a former Barron Park parent and someone who lived in the community for years I understand how use of Barron Park by the community is highly valued.
If you find that gates are being locked before sunset, please let me know the date and time. We will try and get the gate opened as soon as possible.
This Monday and Tuesday we do have substitute night custodians, and I have left instructions to not lock all gates and not before sunset.
Best,
Principal Judy
