Funded solely by private donations and fundraising, Palo Alto Humane Society has consistently and creatively responded to protect animals and to address specific needs for their well-being throughout the mid-Peninsula. Pets are our families, and no one should have to choose between their pet and their finances.

PAH's Pet Health Assistance program saves lives and keeps families like Spike and John's together.

🦴 "Spike is my family. I honestly can’t imagine my life without him. If I hadn’t received help for Spike, I don’t know what I would have done. Knowing that PAH is there brings so much comfort and hope during such a difficult time.

Pet Health Assistance exists to help people get their pets the urgent veterinary care that they need and we're glad we were able to support Cookie. Thanks to all our donors and followers who make stories like Cookie's possible. Cookie was vomiting blood and her people took her to the ER. She received treatment and medication and made a full recovery. Cookie's people say:

"Thank you for the peace you gave to my family. Cookie is one of the best things that have happened to us. Cookie has been with us for over 9 years -- she is family! Cookie supported my daughter's anxiety when she was enduring tough times. When Cookie got sick, I saw fear in my daughter's eyes—My fear of losing Cookie for not getting her the medical attention she needed. Thank you, Palo Alto Humane, for stepping in to ensure Cookie received the urgent care she needed. God bless you for your help."

We had a beautiful day at Bark in the Park yesterday...thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat and say hello. We were busy recruiting more Visiting Pals pet-and-people teams so that we can see more people in our community. Bonus points if you're in the San Jose area and want to visit schools, libraries, and offices there!
