Funded solely by private donations and fundraising, Palo Alto Humane Society has consistently and creatively responded to protect animals and to address specific needs for their well-being throughout the mid-Peninsula. Palo Alto Humane Society develops, funds, or supports organizations dedicated to meeting specific needs of the animals of the mid-Peninsula.

🐈 This Memorial Day, we are sharing Memo's story. Memo is a stray who found a family to love...and to love him right back.

A family took in a stray cat named Memo, who developed a severe facial abscess requiring emergency veterinary care. Memo's person, a retired grandfather living in Gilroy, wasn't able to afford treatment. Thanks to PAH's financial support with the Pet Health Program, Memo received life-saving surgery from vet partner VCA San Martin and made a full recovery.

👑 Meet Princess! This charming low-rider was diagnosed with pyometra after her people brought her to (Veterinary Emergency Group). They quoted $5,000 to treat Princess for this procedure, which can occur in female dogs.

🏥 PAH partnered with VEG to fund Princess' treatment. VEG discounted their services and PAH's Pet Health Assistance contributed the remaining funds. We are so pleased that Princess has made a full recovery!

❤️ Princess' person reports: "She's brought a lot of smiles and laughter to me. The first time I gave her a stuffed animal she was so excited...a few months later we got a kitten. Princess cuddled with him and raised him like if that was her baby, you could always find them laying down together, sleeping or chasing each other back and forth through the house.

I would have been heartbroken if I would have lost her. Princess has been a big impact to my kids and grandkids. She has brought a lot of love into our home. Thank you for saving her."

📷 Please help us capture the magic of our Visiting Pals program; having great pictures and short videos tells important stories to support PAH's mission to inspire our community to connect humanely with animals

🐾 Time Commitment: We're flexible! Sign up for a Visiting Pals session that works with your schedule as often as you'd like. Most of our VP sessions are during the weekdays.

🐾 What you'll do: Take pictures and short videos at our Visiting Pals events for PAH to use in our marketing to showcase this heartwarming program
