They are the voice in the dark and the golden thread that connects our community to the help they need. ๐ŸŽง๐Ÿ’› Behind every siren you hear, there was a dispatcher who took the call, stayed calm, and sent help. ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿš“๐Ÿš’

This National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we want to say a massive thank you to our incredible dispatchers at Palo Pinto Sheriffโ€™s Office. They handle the unthinkable with grace, coordinate life-saving responses in seconds, and keep our first responders safe every single shift. Our dispatchers work 24/7, 365 days a year to keep Palo Pinto County safe. To our team: Your dedication doesn't go unnoticed. Thank you for being the calm in every storm. ๐Ÿ’› ๐Ÿ’›

Drop a "Thank You" or a ๐Ÿ’› in the comments to show our dispatch team some love!

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿš” ICE AND SNOW? TAKE IT SLOW. ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿšจ

Our team is monitoring the incoming weather, and road conditions are expected to deteriorate quickly. Temperatures are dropping, which means black ice will be a major concern for those who must commute. While the roads may look "just wet," temperatures are expected to drop quickly, creating dangerous "icy" conditions.
If you don't have to be out, stay home. If you must travel:

โ€ข Check your tires: Ensure you have proper tread and pressure.
โ€ข Slow down. Speed limits are for ideal conditions, not icy ones.
โ€ข Increase following distance. It takes much longer to stop on ice.
โ€ข Clear your view: Completely defrost windows and clear snow/ice before driving.
โ€ข Treat every bridge and overpass as if it is iced over. (They freeze first!)
โ€ข Do NOT use cruise control.

Our deputies are out patrolling, but weโ€™d much rather see you safe in your driveway than on the side of the road. ๐Ÿš”

๐Ÿ“ž Reminder: Please do NOT call 911 for road updates. Keep our emergency lines open for life-threatening situations. For road closures, visit www.drivetexas.org
