The County Clerk's office in the Palo Pinto Courthouse is CLOSED effective Thursday, September 3rd for repairs from a flood. ALL FILINGS must be filed in the Mineral Wells Annex office located at 100 SE 6th Ave., Mineral Wells, TX 76067 while the repairs are being done. We are anticipating to re-open the Palo Pinto office on October 7, 2026. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Sorry for any inconvenience. 🔥PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT – WILDFIRE🔥

Due to the ongoing wildfire, residents in the Town of Palo Pinto, north of Highway 180 and west of FM 4, should remain alert and closely monitor conditions.

At this time, there is NO mandatory evacuation order for this area.

However, residents who choose to leave the area as a precaution are encouraged to do so. If you feel you need to evacuate and require assistance, please contact Palo Pinto County at 940-659-2085.

Residents should remain prepared in the event conditions change and follow any additional instructions issued by local emergency officials.

Again, evacuation is NOT mandatory at this time.

📢 Office Closure Notice – Tuesday, July 14th

The Palo Pinto County Tax Office will be conducting our annual Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Audit & Compliance Review on Tuesday, July 14th.

To accommodate the audit and staff training, both the Palo Pinto Courthouse Tax/Motor Vehicle Office and the Mineral Wells Annex Tax/Motor Vehicle Office will be closed from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

⏰ Closure Time: 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
📍 Locations Affected: Palo Pinto Courthouse & Mineral Wells Annex

We encourage everyone to plan their visit around this temporary closure. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important annual review and training.
