Indian Hill Schedule Update for the 2026–2027 School Year
We are excited to share an updated daily schedule for our preschool and kindergarten programs for the upcoming school year. These adjustments have been made to best support student learning and daily routines.

Kindergarten
-School day: 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
-Lunch/recess: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Preschool (regular session)
-AM session: 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
-PM session: 12:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Preschool (PLC days)
-AM session: 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
-PM session: 12:00–1:30 p.m.

Please make note of these new times as you plan for arrival and dismissal. We appreciate your partnership and look forward to another wonderful year of learning with your child!

In this D128 in 128 episode, we continue our school finance series by exploring how District 128 compares to neighboring districts. We focus on three key areas: State Evidence-Based Funding, tax rates, and per-pupil spending. These charts provide additional context and demonstrate District 128's ongoing commitment to fiscal responsibility and the careful management of taxpayer resources.

Please note: Bus registration for returning students will close on Friday, July 10. This deadline gives First Student enough time to finalize bus routes for the upcoming school year. First Student recently purchased Illinois School Bus, which provides our bus transportation. Registration will reopen in September. If your returning student needs bus service, please complete registration before July 10.

We are excited to introduce the first episode of D128 in 128, a new video series created to keep our community informed, connected, and engaged. In just about 128 seconds, we will answer questions, share updates, and highlight the important work happening throughout our schools.

In Episode 1, we begin by exploring why District 128 is focusing on school finance and how school funding works in Illinois. Our goal is to provide clear, transparent information to help our community understand the opportunities and challenges our district faces as we continue to plan responsibly for the future.

🤖⚙️ STEAM Summer Camp is coming to Chippewa Elementary School!

Students entering Grades 2–5 can spend August 3–7 exploring robotics, engineering, coding, STEM challenges, and hands-on learning through an exciting partnership with CFI Robotics and the Center for Future Innovators.

📅 August 3–7, 2026
⏰ 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
📍 Chippewa Elementary School
👨‍🔬 Incoming Grades 2–5 D128 Students
💲 $400 per student

Students will build LEGO® robots, compete in RoboSumo matches, tackle engineering challenges, and strengthen teamwork and problem-solving skills.
