Students at our elementary schools have been learning about PBIS, which stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. For the first two weeks of school, Palos 118 staff have been teaching our young Cardinals the behavioral expectations that help our schools remain safe, orderly, and caring places to learn. This week, students who earned Cardinal Coins for exhibiting those positive traits took part in a drawing to select a special prize at Palos East. Shout out to our PFA for donating funds to help purchase the prizes for our PBIS programs!

Palos South hosted their school-wide PBIS Kick Off Assembly recently. PBIS, which stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, helps reinforce the expectations for good student behavior each year and models and raises awareness of what it takes to be a positive, productive member of the Palos 118 school community. This year’s theme is "There's No Place Like South" with staff dressing as characters from the Wizard of Oz. During the kick off assembly students were encouraged to take care of one another, follow expectations, show courage, use their brains, and lead with heart, to make South a place that feels like home to everyone.
