Just to clarify, our current principal, Mr. Pitts is alive and well. Our first principal, Mr. Creel, who retired in 1999, passed away recently and we shared his obituary and what he meant to the school. 🩵

We want to take a moment to honor and mourn the passing of the first principal of Surfside, Mr. Joe Creel. Mr. Creel was a dedicated educator in the Bay County School System for over 30 years, retiring in 1999 after being the founding principal of Surfside Middle School. Mr. Creel was loved and admired by his students and staff and he was devoted to them in return. He will always be remembered and honored by the Surfside Sharks as they step into our gymnasium, otherwise know as Creel’s Shark Tank. Rest in peace, Mr. Creel.🦈 🙏🩵
