🚧 Road Closure Notice for Wednesday, August 26

E Beach Drive from approximately Luverne Avenue to E 2nd Court (Tarpon Dock Drawbridge roadway) will be closed on Wednesday, August 26, beginning around 9 a.m. The closure is expected to last one day and will not impact marine traffic.

Businesses operating in the area will remain open and have access to their parking lots. The closure will only affect vehicles traveling through this section of E Beach Drive.

Drivers will see numerous signs throughout the area alerting them to the closure. Motorists are encouraged to follow the posted detour and use E 4th Street or 6th Street as an alternate route between The Cove and Downtown Panama City.

The closure is needed so construction crews can transition from the old Lift Station 80 to the newly constructed Lift Station 80.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as our crews work to safely complete this project and strengthen the area’s infrastructure.

Panama City’s Charter helps shape how our City is governed and how City government operates.

On November 3, 2026, voters will have the opportunity to consider three proposed Charter amendments addressing government structure and elections, administrative and operational provisions, and updates to modernize the Charter and maintain compliance with applicable laws.

We’re proud to reshare the sentiments of the Panama City Fire Department, with sincere appreciation for the men and women who continue to answer the call—not only for the citizens of Panama City but also for our neighboring communities when they need support.

This week’s incidents across Bay County highlighted the strength of our fire service and the importance of working together. From a lightning-strike house fire in Lynn Haven, to a large commercial fire in Panama City Beach and a vehicle fire in north Panama City—time and again, our fire service partners stepped up to protect our communities and support one another.

When an emergency occurs, Bay County stands together. We’re proud of the unity, teamwork, and dedication that define our first responders and make our entire community stronger.

We’re proud to see community partners come together to support conservation and enhance our city’s parks and open spaces. The new hummingbird trellis at Henry Davis Park is a great example of what can happen when local nonprofits, businesses, and community members work alongside the City.

On September 11, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., the City of Panama City will host a solemn 25th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at the Panama City Marina.

The ceremony will honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, remember those whose lives were forever changed and pay tribute to the courage, service and sacrifice of first responders, service members, families and communities.

Held in partnership with Bay County, the Bay County Sheriff's Office and Tyndall Air Force Base, the ceremony will feature remarks from Colonel Ryan Thulin, Commander of the 325th Fighter Wing, along with ceremonial tributes including the presentation of colors, a moment of silence, bell tolling and a 21-gun salute.

Reminder: Beginning tomorrow, the City's School Zone Speed Enforcement Program will be in effect. Please obey posted speed limits and use extra caution when traveling through school zones.
