Pantego Fire Department

—-Expired and Unused Medications—-
The Pantego Fire Department is working in conjunction with University of Houston and Sharps Compliance to help keep expired and unused medications from polluting our drinking water. There is an envelope box on the front of the fire station where you can pick up a Takeaway Medication envelope. Take the envelope home, put your medications in the self- addressed envelope, and drop it off at the Post Office or put out for the postal carrier to pick up. There is no charge for the shipping and directions are in the envelope. The envelope is never opened, so your information is safe, it is put directly into an incinerator.
Do not put needles, syringes, lancets, injection pens, or chemotherapy waste on the envelope. Liquids must be placed in a sealed plastic bag before going into the envelope and no more than 4 ounces in each mailing envelope. If you have questions about the process, please call Sharps Compliance at 1-800-772-5657. Thank you for doing your part.

Congratulations Officer Rife, Officer Vega, and Dispatcher Brenna!!

❤️ Lifesaving Awards at tonight’s Town Council Meeting—

On December 8, 2020, Pantego Dispatch Brenna White received a 911 call for an unconscious person. She quickly dispatched an ambulance and a police unit to the location. Pantego Police Offices Rife and Vega arrived on the scene to find a 49-year-old male laying unresponsive on the floor with his wife performing chest compressions. The police officers took over chest compressions, then Pantego Medic 49 arrived on the scene with Lt Mitchell, Firefighter paramedics Lance Westman and Michael Irizarry. The Paramedics applied the LifePak 15, he was in a shockable rhythm, they administered two shocks to the patient, and he converted back to a normal sinus rhythm. Medic crew continued with medical protocols, loaded the patient, and transported to MCA. Upon arrival to the hospital, the patient was conscious and breathing on his own. Patient was released from the hospital after three days.
The quick thinking and professionalism of the Pantego Dispatch, Police, and Fire Departments made this incident and the patient’s outcome successful, giving him another Christmas and Holiday season with his family.

Thankful that our partners at MCA came out tonight to help us recognize a job well done.

There will be a drive thru community food distribution event tomorrow (Saturday)!! It’s from 11-2 at 2800 W Arkansas.

Remember to protect the four P's! People, pets, plants, and pipes!!

The potential for freezing precipitation has increased since yesterday, including for this morning and again tonight, but mainly for late Wednesday into Thursday. The area of concern is roughly along and northwest of a line from Paris to Dallas to Goldthwaite.

• Temperatures have already fallen below freezing northwest of a Paris to Dallas to Goldthwaite line this morning and will only warm slightly today.
• Patchy light freezing drizzle is expected this morning into early afternoon where temperatures are below freezing.
• Chances of freezing drizzle increase again tonight (Tuesday night) into Wednesday morning mainly north of I-20/I-30.
• The best chances of freezing rain with more notable ice accumulations are late Wednesday through Thursday morning.
• The main impacts are light accumulations leading to travel impacts on area roads, especially bridges and overpasses.
• Brutally cold conditions are expected this weekend as arctic air surges south through the region. Wind chills Saturday night through Monday will range from -10 to 10 degrees with temperatures possibly staying below freezing during the day.
• The dangerously cold air will have impacts on those who are exposed to the cold temperatures for even just a few hours. Exposed pipes may freeze and break with these conditions.
• A low potential for wintry weather exists this weekend into Monday but confidence on the day this may occur and the possible amounts remains extremely low.

Arctic air is expected to bring very cold temperatures to the region this weekend and into early next week. How cold temperatures will get remains uncertain at this time, but temperatures could approach record low values. Winter precipitation will be possible Saturday as well as Sunday night through Monday night. However, there's still low confidence in precipitation type at this time. Now would be a good time to start taking precautions to protect the four Ps: people, plants, pets, and pipes. Continue to monitor the forecast as details are refined throughout the week.

Pantego Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying an Aggravated Robbery suspect.

On Friday, January 29, 2021 at approximately 1128 hours, an unknown male suspect entered the Cricket Wireless located at 2301 W. Park Row Drive #A. Upon seeing the employee, this suspect removed a silver handgun with a black slide and pointed it at the employee. He then made the employee take him to a room where the safe is kept. The suspect produced a black duffle style bag and had the employee place cell phones from the safe into it. He then made the employee go back to the front of the store and take all the money out of the cash registers and put them into a separate bag. Once the money was put into the bag, the suspect ran out of the store.

The suspect was wearing a royal blue, with white and grey sleeves, sweatshirt with hood; black track style pants with two small white stripes down each leg; and what appears to be an older pair of white Air Jordan double strap shoes.

If anyone recognizes this suspect, please contact Detective Sheli Godbold at (817) 274-2511 or call Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at (817) 469-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County

Our second "who's this" Monday superstar is shared by two subjects! These two went into a local business and took a hard working citizens wallet! They then "allegedly" used their credit card to purchase a few gift cards. Too bad they don't know about Walmart's new awesome security system! Even with the masks...if you know them...you know them. Give Det. S. Godbold a shout at (817) 274-2511 or contact Tarrant County Crime Shoppers at (817) 469-TIPS

The Town of Pantego lost a dedicated employee and a good friend this week.
Ernest Carrasco, a valued member of our Public Works Department, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 13.
Ernest worked for the Town for over three years, but his memory will live on far beyond those years.
Our hearts and prayers are with his sisters, Josie and Mary, his entire extended family, and the many friends he made, particularly those who worked alongside him each day.

Thanks for the reminder APD!! Reminder to also watch out for your neighbors! If you see something suspicious, call 911. We are always here for you and will check it out.

If you're planning to take advantage of online shopping deals during #PrimeDay, we encourage you to plan ahead so porch pirates don't take advantage of you!!

If you're having packages delivered to your home, make sure someone (a family member, a friend, a neighbor) is there to receive them, so they're not left outside for extended periods of time.

Consider having your packages delivered to your workplace, so you can pick them up immediately.

And if you see anything suspicious, like a vehicle following a delivery truck, call 911 and let us know.
