Here’s the true impact of the Not-So Beautiful Bill on Crawford County.

Households with the highest incomes (more than $114,444) gained an average tax break of $3,409, while those with the lowest incomes (less than $23,928) lost an average of -$1,092.

And for the households in the middle? They gained $407, which was quickly eaten up by higher grocery and gas prices.

Why such an unfair difference?

It’s the net effect of the bill’s devastating cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), which hits people with lower incomes the hardest. There’s nothing beautiful about taking food and healthcare away from people in our community.

🗳️ Bayh leads the first HPN Hoosier Poll.

Out of 402 responses, Bayh received 46.5%, followed by Engling at 24.9%. But nearly 3 in 10 chose a third-party candidate, Jacobo, or remained undecided.

Other highlights from the IDEA Weekend included a panel discussion with statewide candidates Beau Bayh for Secretary of State, Coumba Keebe for State Treasurer, Jessica Bailey for State Comptroller. The discussion was moderated by former Ambassador Joe Donnelly.
Robin Winston, former state chair, was honored with the Lee H Hamilton Public Service Award. Robin is a partner with Paoli native Pat Terrell in the Winston-Terrell
Group.

IDEA Weekend started on Thursday with our annual Kick UP Your Heels reception, honoring women. Always fun with a dynamic group of hosts, including our own Martha Nice. Highlights for the huge crowd were hearing from 8 th District Congressional candidate Mary Allen and former First Lady Judy O’Bannon.
