**UPDATE** As of 4pm Highway 150 E is back open to full traffic.

Highway 150 E in the area of Greenbriar Church is completely closed due to emergency crews working a semi rollover. Expect road closure for the next few hours and detours. Stay up to date with this post on further information.

**UPDATE** As of 12:05 PM, Highway 150 West is open back up to normal traffic. Emergency crews have cleared the scene.

**UPDATE** As of 10:30 AM, US HWY 150 West will be closed both lanes of traffic while crews work to recover the semi. Expect detours or stand still traffic, unknown how long this will take.

Emergency crews are currently working a semi accident in the area of Castle Knoll Farms. Please use an alternate route if possible and use extreme caution in the area! This scene will be ongoing for the next couple of hours.

Update from INDOT: State Road 56 W from Ames Chapel Church to the Prospect “Y” is closed due to high water. Also numerous county roads and town streets throughout the county are closed as well due to high waters.

As most of you are aware Paoli and surrounding areas are without power. Orange County 911 Center is currently without power and is currently not able to answer admin or 911 lines. If you call 911 it will either go to Lawrence County or Crawford County. They will relay your 911 information to us via radio then we will dispatch accordingly. Please bare with us as we will get emergency services to your need, but there will be a delay. We will post an update when we have fully restored power and back up and running full operations.

Make a Difference in Your Community

We are seeking dedicated, calm, and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Part-Time 911 Dispatcher. This is a critical role supporting emergency response and public safety.

Position Details:

* Part-Time Hours (flexible shifts, including nights/weekends)
* Paid training provided
*Pay $19.50 hr (28hrs a week)

Key Responsibilities:

* Answer emergency and non-emergency calls
* Dispatch police, fire, and EMS personnel
* Gather and relay critical information quickly and accurately
* Maintain composure in high-stress situations
* Operate dispatch and communication systems

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or GED required
* Strong communication and multitasking skills
* Ability to remain calm under pressure
* Basic computer proficiency
* Background check and drug screening required
*MUST be 18 years or older
*Possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred (but not required):

* Prior dispatch, emergency services, or call center experience

This week is National Telecommunications Week or National 911 Dispatcher Week. We would like to send out a huge thank you to all of our Orange County 911 Communications Officers who work around the clock keeping the 911s answered and the radios chattering! It takes a special person to do this job and we don’t get recognized very much. These 10 dispatchers are the first to know about the emergency and are there until the very end!
